OK, hold on to your hat: only ONE film biz lawyer e-mailed me back, and THIS is what they charge:
To start out with, $2,500.00 a MONTH retainer, $500.00 and hour, and $200.00 to send a script to Johnny Depp's agent (who is notoriously difficult)
Golly... I guess I won't be hiring an attorney in the near future... I sort of figured it would be kind of expensive... I think I am doing fine by myself...
Just hire the lawyer when you actually need to sign contracts, etc...
Make sure you don't get screwed by the studios.
But at this stage, of pitching your project, you don't need a lawyer yet...
Do you have a lawyer? How can ANYONE afford a lawyer? Well yes, I mean, I can't afford one, I was just sort of curious you know... But wow...
Heck, some lawyers "gots bills to pay"
I know of a lawyer in NYC ( that has a staff of about 10 people) who's office rent is $50,000........ a month.
As for me, I decided that it'd be cheaper to just go to law school myself.
Just send it to Jonny Depp, FRANCE. ^-^
