What qualities make you respect someone else? Are they the same qualities you value in yourself or different ones?
people that tell it like it is. not fake. yes i do value these things in myself. i live a life with alot of pissed off people because i really tell them what i see, think and feel.
I respect the ability to be reserved and considerate.
And I'm not just saying that because I was surrounded by people too stupid to shut up all motherfucking day.
Honesty
Pride
Self Respect
Individuality
The list could go on, and on.
Yes, these are things I respect about myself as well.
You get what you give.
Intelligence, Cunning, Caring, and Stubbornness/Strength of will.
I have respect for intelligent and charismatic figures.
I don't have to like them, if they earn my respect that's an accomplishment in itself.
In no order whatsoever:
Intelligence
Being nice
Confidence
Agressiveness
Dignity
Being real
I try to be all those every day, because I love it when I meet someone with these qualities.
Kindness,Honesty, Courage, Loyalty, Compassion, Courtesy, Dignity,Pride, Intelligence, Strength, and many other traits as well.
ambition, selflessness, confidence, educated, openminded, not afraid to be on a deeper level with people...how can one name them all? i would hope that these all apply to myself as well, but who am i to judge?
That is true, there are too many qualities to just list like that.Quote:

Respect these days is abused too much and is quickly losing it's value and meaning.
"You don't know me...you have to resepct my opinion!"....this statement and the 1001 variations have done so much damage I don't see how it can be repaired.
honesty, strength, intelligence, compassion, and a great sense of humor. I find the older I get, the more a sense of humor comes in handy.
I find it really difficult to respect stupid people - i hate myself for it. i can only really respect intelligent people - it's screwed up i know. especially as i'm pretty stupid at times. anyone know of any ways to overcome this prejudice, because i loathe the fact that if i'm around someone really thick then i get really irritable and annoyed and end up being a moody cow. it isn't an iq thing, or an education thing, just not going 'huh?' to every bloody thing i say.

someone who never asks"what are you thinking"
I respect anyone that comes to me about anything. If its something bad about me or gossip or whatever sure, we may bicker and argue, and yell and type mean words (if that applies), but in the end respect for that person comes when we go "WTF? I love you" and move on with life as though nothing happened;]
honesty is a big key.
Not being a dick is a close second.
I'd rather deal with a polite liar then deal with an honest asshole yaknow?
