I dont really care for hunting but I think they are doing it because of over population

They claim the feral cats are wiping out the local bird population. Its sad and cruel. People are woping out EVERY living thing on this earth and we are over populated, so when is it going to be legal to shoot stray people?

They shoot stray children in Brazil or at least they did when I was there. I don't think it was legal, but it didn't seem to horrify the locals enough to stop it.

Wow, I am about to get upopular here.

I am not in Wisconsin, so I can't guess if it is really the case or not but the problem they are addressing is not a few strays but a couple million feral cats. Removing the protection cats recieve does not mean anyone can just go hooting kittens of your front porch. According to the people who proposed the idea (who may be wrong I will grant) there are approximately 2 million feral cats killing about 49 million songbirds. Live trapping is humane, but then what?

It sucks, it is a horrible choice to make, but it isn't just a bunch of drunk rednecks sitting around goin, "let go shoot us some kittens." Although it should be a sign to cat owner to spay and nueter and not dump kittens. These cats did not reach this population level because of one or two careless owners.

Shooting kitties...? I can't even begin to stomach the thought. I still remember how I reacted to the rat fishing here in Baltimore a while back, and I'm not even a rat person.

There is a once feral cat sitting on my chair with me right now. There are other ways to deal with this problem.

Hey, if they have a problem with it, theyll stage a rebellion. If not, they obviously dont care.

In all honestly, though, Id rather not live to see cats outnumber humans.

I was appalled when the vans in Florida went around and rounded up cats at the pier and either "fixed" or put them down. Looking at it now, that seems almost nice in comparison to being shot. Euthanasia is one thing, declaring open season on cats is entirely another. If these cats are declared "open season" and a domesticated cat gets a round of buckshot in the gut the owner of said cat is now out one cat and has no grouhds to sue the son of a bitch. Something about this whole thing stinks like week old sushi.

Nature regulates itself. There are not many predators in America anymore.
Most of them have been hunted, or driven to Canada. So if anything, there
is probably an overpopulation of birds, because they are an animal
that is able to live amongst humans, in the city, without problems...

I say let the feral cats live.
They will either survive, or not.
And we will have some birds, and some cats,
and some other creatures. I think it's lame how
any time there are animals of any kind in the city,
they try to get rid of them. Racoons, oppossums, skunks, etc...
Unless they are cute, like a squirrel or a bird, they get killed...
People don't want animals around. I say let them try to survive...
Survival of the fittest... If the birds are smart, they will go elsewhere,

Again, this is focusing on a symptom of a larger problem...

The problem is this: Too many people, breeding like rabbits.

Who do I blame? The Catholic Church.
That, and lack of access to birth control.

Humans are gobbling up the world's resources, and it's becoming
more and more competitive. So the USA is trying to keep it's
wealth and high standard of living. So the USA does not want
to bring over every starving African, Mexican, etc. Because we
want all the good stuff for ourselves. The problem is that
people keep breeding, and breeding, and breeding. Every
family in Mexico, that has 10 kids, each one of those 10
kids, will have 10 more kids. It's exponential. So yes, they
are hungry and poor down there, and it SUCKS. So yes,
they will totally want to come to America, and I don't
blame them one bit. If I was living down there, I would
be trying to get to the USA too. And I would not want
people shooting at me, just because I want a better life...

But the immigration problem is just a symptom of overpopulation.
If you want the people in Mexico to have enough food, then they
need to have LESS of them. If you have less people in the world,
you will be able to feed them all, with no problem. There will be
more jobs available, etc...

People get so upset about the SYMPTOMS of a problem,
instead of working to fix the core problem...

Get those people some birth control, and pressure the
Catholic Church to encourage it. Otherwise the starvation
of those children will be on their heads... They encourage
them to have a ton of kids, and look what happens...
It's the same in America. Try having 10 kids, and see
how your standard of living is. Even having one kid
is a hardship. My friends who have kids, are barely
getting by. My friends without kids, are able to
buy houses, take vacations, etc...

Kids are cool and all, but it needs to be controlled,
so families in these countries don't have 10 kids...
1-2 max...

Its not all about overpopulation my parents brought me here just because you can make more money here in a day than you can in a week over there, im from mexico and i dont know anyone with 10 kids most people i know have 4 at the most and thats realy not that much.

Yup...hard not too. To be honest it's an issue that those crossing over are far too familiar with given the dangers involved with coming here illegally to begin with. It's nowhere near as easy as liberals and conservatives make it out to be. You've always had to worry about idiots with guns...this latest version is just another hassle. Though like many have stated the ones in more danger are the idiots with the guns. Cause at some point they will run into smugglers, drug runners, and the other dark dwellers of our deserts...if these idiots knew what really went on out there they'd go home and not worry about people trying to sneak over to WORK.

Plus it's not like any are shocked about...it's not the first time this has happened. There is a long history of it.

Ok, if you can't see the larger picture, just look at my simple example...

Have the same job you have now, with no kids, with one kid, or with 4 kids, or with 10....

Let me tell you, it is pretty damn likely that if you have a ton of kids, even in America, you will be on welfare... If you don't have a ton of kids, you will have money to feed the few you do have. Having more than 1-2 kids is a PROBLEM...

And the imigration issue is a problem only because there is not enough space, jobs, food, etc, for everyone, and we are greedy, and we want to keep it for ourselves. People get really pissed off at the idea of some immigrant taking their job. I understand why people come here. I totally do. But imagine that if whatever job you do, no matter what it is, what if you come to work tomorrow, and they let you go, because they found an immigrant who will do your job for $6 per hour... It's a brutal world, and it is competitive. The more people there are in the world, the more competitive it will be. That's why companies are taking their jobs to other countries. That is part of the problem with unemployment in the USA. It's cheaper to hire people in other countries, who are so desperate, they will take $5 per day. It sucks for everyone involved. But the only answer is to reduce population...

There are petitions...go to any activists groups in the area. They're a waste of time, the majority of Americans and even Canadians have made it pretty clear they don't really give a fuck about those sneaking over unless they come from Europe...or "defectors" as it was once called.

Plus in this case to be brutally honest...won't be helped by white people complaing about other white people. Given many of those with guns in that area are not even from the states they are taking action in...the minorities of the region need to take as hardline an action as possible. It's VERY important they're the ones to do it too.

Illegal workers are so exploited it's sick...the system to protect them is a joke since it's the same system that will ship them back where they came from. A bit of a misrepresented one at that...it's something that needs to happen. Both camps have theor own statistics on the matter but I try to keep a big picture look to it and I prefer that image. It's a big topic to say the least but the supporters of such actions have my support. As much as it goes unreported and unpopular to say many who lost their jobs to outsourcing are better off now, some companies were saved by it, the benefits it brings to other countries is much better than it is worse. The focus seems to be totally on profit...but it's alsmo about survival. One company did it to save the whole ship...not just the captains quarters. It lost one part of it's programming pool in this case but was able to higher MORE people in other areas as a result.

But that won't sell papers or make the news...it's not evil enough.
