Subdivision and Parents Just Don't Understand
So the other day, I was eating at a sports bar. Not because I like sports, but because it is very close to where I live and the person I was eating with wanted to eat there. Now I have a weird medley of Rush and Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince stuck in my head.
Re: Subdivision and Parents Just Don't Understand
Having a song stuck in your mind can be either or good or bad.
The song I remember having stuck in my mind a while ago was , " Heaven's On Fire"
Re: Subdivision and Parents Just Don't Understand
I've got that heard you've got a boyfriend that looks like a girlfriend song stuck in my mind
Re: Subdivision and Parents Just Don't Understand
Oh, who's that by? I love that song...
By the way, Rush rules.

Rush was the first band that ever really spoke to me.
The femmey boyfriend song is by a band called The Killers. You'd expect them to look all Depeche Mode . . . until you saw the video. Very perturbing. Looks like almost an emo Milli Vanilli of a song guys who look like that probably would not have either written or chosen. But they don't look comfortable in the clothes either. Kind of like a record company stylist told them they were going to dress like that now.

That line is sooooooooooooo much more meaningful when you live in LA. I was in the bathroom at the bar when that line came on and I was all cackling to myself. Good thing I was alone.
Re: Subdivision and Parents Just Don't Understand
Now the cool song is replaced by that stupid song from the commercial for :charmin ultra

Actually, they've always dressed that way. Those are some Vegas boys.. Szandora and I know 'em.. They're actually pretty cool. She hula-hooped with them a couple times, and they used to always come down to Thee Swank Bastards shows..
We saw their first show.. They played at the huntridge with a couple other local bands. Seems so long ago.. I'm happy they're making it!

Wow, really?!? How interesting. Don't they seem to you from their sound like they wouldn't dress like that and from their dress they wouldn't sound like that?

Yeah, I can see that.. but in person it suits them very well.. and their music on a cd, or whatever method you choice is crap compared to their worst live show. I used to REALLY like the guitarist, but I'm a sucker for dorks.

I've been getting in touch with my inner dork lately, but somehow the styles there just still seem wrong. Maybe we will check them out in Vegas with y'all some time though and you can teach me the error of my ways.
