I'm new here, so i guess i should introduce myself...

I'm supposed to be studying at Eton, but i dont think i've done any work for about 2yrs... I'm not a posh tit, or at least i try my best not to be, but it can be hard...

I love art, as long as it has an idea behind it, not just a desire for glorified decoration.

I love music as long as it makes me feel something.

This cannot be the only reason to exist

Maybe we exist to find the reason to exist

But my existance is all based on perception right?

yes, but in the naturalist sense of perception. that is an arbitary relative perception of existance. NOT the platonian/descartesian ideal that existance is solely based on perception. which is to say that you exist whether you percieve it or not.

But if you cannot see me then I may or may not exist. I'm not sure what your point was, but i know that if you were to see me you would believe i exist... I would be palpable. But If you hear me or feel me, but could not see me you would begin to think psychosis was setting in because you could not see me. Then your doubt and instinctive need to preserve your sanity would force you to place me as unknown or hallucination from, work, stress, food drugging, and many many many other things that can be used as excuses. You seem to be to be educated, so I'm pretty sure you are not even thinking about spirits or daemons because they would take a more... violent aproach towards a person, despite the "misconceptions" about them.

um....what are you talking about? Cartesian philosophy does not consider that existence is solely based on perception. Both Plato and Desartes were dualists not materialists.
