So Does Satan Get A Movie This Year?
Sure many argue ole Lucifer is in ALL films in some interpretation but look at it this way...
Christians of all denominations got The Passion Of The Christ
Political Junkies got Fahrenheit 9/11
People Who Like Bad Films got The Day After Tomorrow
Comic Book Junkies got Spider-Man 2
The Devil in some form needs a film too dammit. I mean with all the versions, ideas, and philosophies about what he/it is it'd make a great basis for a film.
Call it I, Lucifer or something.
If any place can make a good film about the Devil and all its forms it's Hollywood.

It's like this...
Well in the theatrical cut of the film a statue appears in the end of the film with moving souls and what not. It's a hallmark scene from the film. Their was a huge controversy about using that sculpture since it looked like another famous one inthe national cathedral...the artist didn't like the fact it was used without his consent or in the film.
So when it hit DVD the early prints had a label on them saying that the sculpture had no connection and nothing to do witht he artist and cathedral blah blah blah...and here is when it gets strange.
Following the initial batch the discs no longer had that label. It seems the statue was altered in these versions. Same scene...just a diffrent statue. No problem for some...BIG deal to others.
You can buy the original edition pretty easily now but for a time it was rare as hell since it was recalled by the studio.
Never had interest to check it myself...but that's the official story.

There's another "devilish" movie I'm thinking about that I liked, about a demon that could "jump" from person to person and take over their bodies... at the end of the movie the demon escapes in the form of a cat.... can't remember the name. "Sympathy for the Devil" was its theme though.
Re: So Does Satan Get A Movie This Year?
there hasn't been a good "Devil" movie in a while...

The only one that was any good in recent years was the Ninth Gate. It'd be pretty sweet if they did a movie on the comic Lucifer, or Death.

I apologize for laughing, but according to a lot of Muslim and Christian fundamentalists, the devil has had a heyday in box offices this year. There are actually a group of Christic philosophers that feel that movies that focus on Christ's pain could be considered "Satanic." Thank God, She (because the devil is a sexy chick, or a well-dressed gay Frank Sinatra type), the Devil, provides so much inspiration and finds her "mark" so well in cinema. There are some documentaries out on devil workship and history of the Devil these days. I'll see if I can dig some up.

That movie was called "Fallen" and starred Denzel Washington. It was pretty good.... The demon kept singing "I've got time on my side" throughout; I didn't remember they used "Sympathy for the Devil" at the end until you mentioned it....
