i just got a call saying that my cousin was killed this morning and the funeral is wensday. the problem is i have to work. they're going to be pissed if i call in, but i cant just not go. he was like a brother to me, and if i dont go i wont feel any closer on whats happened. what the hell should i do?
ask a coworker f they can cover your shift that day, also if it a place that gets pissed off because your attending a funeral for a friend do you realy wana keep working there? id just tell em im goin if they have a problem well then fuck them.
they im thinking of looking for another place anyways, b/c they scheduale me at 11:30 in the morning and i cant work til noon b/c i dont get out of school til 11:00. but whatever im gonna have to find someone to cover it
Yeah I'd just say fuck'em and go, I'd also start looking for a new job.....sounds like they don't want you there.
im gonna have to. i cant work til 12:30 at night and then get up at 6 after spending all night on my school work
well, call them and tell them. you're giving them plenty of notice to cover your shift and any kind of employment tribunal would find in your favour if they threatened to fire you etc etc. offer to do one of the shifts of whoever covers for you if they get arsey. but call them to say you wont be in as soon as possible.
i work tomorrow, so im telling them tomorrow.
Just dont show up on funeral day. Go in the next day and tell them you went out, got drunk, and tossed in the drunk tank. And they just were not special enough to use your one phone call on. If they dont like it..fuck'em.
i'm really sorry to hear about your cousin *hugs* ... just go to the funeral, i agree with the others, ask if somebody else can cover for you, and regardless, just go to the funeral, fuck work. hope you're ok...
*hugs* that's a shitty place to be working friend. Go and pay your respects and if they don't like it it's thier problem.
