Halloween bash
I'm planning a halloween party for a bar and want to do something different.(not just the same old costume parties and whatnot)
I have a fair budget to work with. Any ideas for drinks(mixed, shots, punches, etc.)?
What would you serve for snacks/fingerfoods? (I know someone's gonna say fingers in reply to that, so I'll just put it out there now.)
How would you decorate the bar? (I like spiderwebs and all but I see it every year.)
Some input would be appreciated.
Thanx.

Re: Halloween bash
You should sell a pumpkin full of beer!

Re: Halloween bash
do they sell that spray-on cobwebs stuff in the US?
I used to put that on the glasses when I served them... it washes off in water.

Re: Halloween bash
ok, lets look at different things,
what theme are You looking to have this year, Pirate, Vampire, Graveyard?
a good stiff drink is always vodka, with plenty of red food coloring so it looks like blood.
find a old wood barrel to hide a keg in so it looks like a grog barrel on a ship, good for Pirate theme, and for a bar , drape some tarp from the ceiling to look like sails, and add some ropes and a rope ladder to compliment the ship deck look . A good finger food is little sausages in a grape jelly/chili sauce(1 jar of each for the sauce, tis a sweet and tangy taste) mix, tooth picks to retrieve them.(or use meatbals and call em rat brains)
a Grave yard look would be a intermitent strobe light, with sounds of thunder . cobwebs streaming round the ceiling and table items, not the canned stuff, but the cheap stringy stuff from a party supply shop.
get foam gravemarkers and place about the room, some scattered bones
and a few skulls. there is a site that has a creepy table top eats station, full sized corpse that has a opened chest to put food into for serving. one thing to get is a jello mold shaped like brains, and make a cheese dip in and see if you can find halloween themed snack crackers( like red and green colord crackers)
these are a few ideas, make what You sould of them or not...

Re: Halloween bash
A good theme is important, not only does it give you a guideline to work from in many regards, but it also "sells" itself to the masses better.

Re: Halloween bash
I cooked once (and gonna cook this year) - a coffin with deadman inside ..
you can do this too - it's unusual and fun
also decorate home with autumnal leaves, candles ,

Oh you know, snort cocaine off the nubile naked bodies of dead girls, that always works!!!!
Plenty of dead things.... Or wait, get lots of mannikens and dress them up to be dead!!! I am in a manniken mode...
