What Constitutes a Bad Post?

I searched the FAQs and couldn't find anything on the subject.

I noticed the icon, and i'm just looking for some clarification on what one might report as a "bad post".

Don't report a post that is merely annoying or boring.

Basically, if someone posts nudity in the general forum, that would be a bad post. If someone with fewer than 1,000 posts posts a commercial announcement outside the announcement forum, that would be a bad post. If someone with greater than 1,000 posts goes hogwild spamming, those would be bad posts.

There are other things obviously, which I don't like, but I would prefer intelligent discourse. If someone posts a pig ignorant view on a subject, I would like them to have the opportunity to hear more educated views about the topic at hand.

I want this community to be as free as possible. Reporting a bad post is kind of requesting censorship, so please keep bad post reports to a minimum.

So I can't post about my World Universal Wide Grand Pyramid Scheme once i hit 1000 posts? DAMN!

Coulda made Billions...or at least a buck fifty.

You can make one post about your World Universal Wide Grand Pyramid Scheme to tell people about it. Please try to post about it in an entertaining fashion. If there is news about it later, you can make another post about it. But you can't make repetitive commercial posts.

Well hell now that I've been thinking about it...maybe it's a good idea!

I never had trouble figuring out the rules here...but when you have a collection of people who like to break rules on instinct...things happen. I can see how it's a hassle having to be a "moderator" as it where...never a fun job.
