Yeah i get the feeling that no matter how much good one does for another the other will always screw you. Case in point: Rich and I. I make him a star, he calls me fat and humilates my friends for fun. *shakes head* People just don't know how to show appriciation these days.

This is often the case, unfortunately. To try to summarize your general gloom: I believe our society is becoming more fragmented and uncivil.
