Bored Insomniac

Looking desperatly for ways to pass the time here in this state of I've gotten three hours of drug induced sleep in the past three days. Please help. I've even stopped drinkning coffee in hopes that it will help my brain shut off. I've read every book, website and magazine, even the fasion magazines I had Rob steal from the office (and I there is nothing I loathe more than fashion mags, 'cept maybe people that read them like they were the bible). I've gon for a jog. I took a hot bath. I tried sleeping aids. Medatation, err self manipulation, watching the news. For some reason nothing is working. It's starting to get more than annoying.

Any Ideas?

When I get like that, I go to the gym and jump on one of the eliptical machines. I just put on some real hardcore music and max out, I mean, stay on and going as fast and hard as I can for like 30-45 minutes. After a hot shower, it's all I can do not to pass out in the locker room. (Which would be very, very bad.)

Sounds like my same problem..I would kill for more than three hours of sleep.

Try reading really technical books in bed.

Well don't TRY to sleep. Try to stay up and watch movies. Just keep watching DVD's. Also try warm milk. It sounds stupid, but it works.

And if you can't sleep, just don't sleep.

Try writing in your diary or blog. Maybe your subconcious is trying to tell you something. Maybe there is something important that you need to say or do.

I swear I used to wake up in the middle of the night and write things, and I really think that I woke up BECAUSE I was supposed to write that.

In other words, go with the flow!

I've had a head ache for days now I think its related to staring at this moniter soo much,.. I use sunshades now people think I'm crazy,..

I use the computer then I take a break from the computer by watching tv,..

my sleep patterns,.. or lack thereof (a pattern) is basically mostly made up of sleep when you just can't keep your eyes open anymore,.. I masterbate usually masterbate before going to bed and once when I wake up to actually have to get out of bed,..

It's no fun, but your body *will* sleep when it reaches a breaking point.

I find that 90% of insomnia for me, happens when my mind is rolling
things around. When my mind is active, and thinking about things,
I can't sleep. So if there are issues you are dealing with, or things
you are thinking about, deal with them, or else your mind will keep
trying to fugure out an answer. Even when you want it to shut off,
and go to sleep....

Try mixing catnip and spearmint and making a tea. It's one of the few things that helps me sleep. That and 3 or 4 hours of continuous sex.

Get a violin and figure out how to play it , passes the time for me

True..but I call that passing out :1orglaugh

drink a whole bottle of southern comfort in five minutes follwed by a bottle of md20/20. that should punch your ticket.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread. I passed out finally. It came down to "stay up and clean the house" or "sleep". IN my eternal lazyness, my body chose sleep. :p:

Of course, now I'm well rested, but the house is a mess. :(

Thnaks for all your wonderful ideas, when insomnia strikes again (as I know it will) I'll try at least two or three of them, I know I will.

well...I just watched a movie where the main villian was named 'Insomnia'...

...but it was so boring that by the time they blew him up at the end i was very sleepy indeed...

who woulda thunk that Tsui Hark with CGI could be dull?

I am telling you, sometimes you have to listen to your subconcious. I wake up in the middle of the night and I am COMPELLED to do something... So I do it, and then later on I figure out WHY I was compelled to do it..

Of course I could be just a California ditz which is also true....

I am usually awakened in the middle of the night and COMPELLED to kill, kill, kill, kill...

...man I swear, it just takes more, and more decapitations to get a good night's sleep lately.

toddlers have little heads....

wanna fall asleep fast? watch either titanic or the cell. i tryed sitting down and watching those flicks but was cutting z's less than fifteen minutes in even with a six pack of jolt already drunk....another good one to watch is chasing amy. Im always dosing off during that snooze fest.

I'm not bored... I'm so psyched about one of my longterm creative projects right now that I've worked myself up, and haven't gone to sleep yet...

...and I've got the fucking day job in the morning...

BAH!!!
