What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
With the big launch of the huge BlueBlood.com supersite, kind of a lot of people have mentioned that they want a membership but are strapped for funds right now. I'm thinking of coming up with some sort of plan for how some of these folks could earn free memberships.
So what would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership? (No cheesegraters on genitals offers please. That wouldn't really be useful.)

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
what about a poster/ad contest? and for those who do not have photo editing programs or not talented with them, maybe they can write a 100 word essay on how BB changed their life ;P
but serious about the 1st one *_*

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
other ideas..
1: post pics of you taking a funny faces.the more creative the better!.let members vote on em.
2: trivial contest..movies/musick/BB history
3: BB song lyric writing contest
4: treasure hunt of some sort...scatter easter eggs through out blueblood.net and have members find them.. (gets them to click on shit!) then they have to imput the codes/answers and earn points
when i did a contest for my goggles thats what i did..had a treasure hunt and image contests and trivia.. some members on here participated..plus its all in good fun! :D

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
I kinda like the poster/ad idea, at the very least it would be interesting to see what artworks are born out of it :1bluewink

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
I think Amelia is looking for ideas about how people could earn a membership, rather than just win a membership. Perhaps there will be a different thread about contests and such. I know it's a fine distiction in some cases though. For example if we had someone make X number of cool approved desktops or banners or somesuch, that would be earning it, if we had a contest for best desktop design and/or banners, and only one or two people could win, that would be a contest. Both are good ideas. But, I think it's good to have some options that are not competitive, so people know that if they did such-and-such they would get a membership.

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
I think for a free membership they should bring something to the table. There are a lot of subsets here which could both be groups onto themselves and add to your readership. They could create:
BB for the Second Amendment
BB for Gun Control
Literary BB
BB Artisans
philosophical/ religious preferences etc.
or simply those who write articles and/or contribute art/photos etc.
Once you see a serious effort put forth, then give them free memberships. I don't think a lack of funds should be an issue as long as a real effort is there.

I think the idea of earning it would be a lot more effective.

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
I'm just sort of brainstorming here, so all ideas are welcome. I was thinking more sort of specific ways to earn memberships, but contests and such are all totally cool too.

We're just throwing ideas out. I guess banner exchanges and such would be the obvious (hotlinked).

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
hrm other than the above mentioned..not really sure how someone would earn a membership..sorta like proving themselves that they are worthy..then thats just begging :)
hrm..*thinks*...hrm..not sure how else to earn something like that..the blueblood membership exchange would be kinda of a unfair advantage if you went with something like..most referrals or hits..because there can be cheaters clicking their own links with macros using proxies and some sites just dont get as many hits as others..ill think some more though ~_*

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
whoever made this banner https://www.blueblood.com/_images/bb_header1.gif did an amazing job. i love that thing.

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
OH, i thought of an idea. maybe if you were able to create personal links that could track how many hits an individual could bring in. say maybe for every 3000 (or whatever number you decide) hits someone brings it would earn them a membership.
Edit: I just read the previous posters post, please discard this one.

We are just brainstorming here. No wrong answers. Plus, this is Blue Blood and that means we don't all have to agree, so long as we treat each other with respect :thumb:

Well, if someone cheats in any contest, whether it is fake hits or turning in artwork which is not theirs or whatever, then they are a sucky cheater. A hits or referrals contest for people who are not cheating and are really sending hits would be fair.
Scar and SpacemanSpiff won most referrals and I don't think they cheated. They deserved to win that contest. But, I think we're showing that we are open to different ideas here.
Not everyone has traffic and not everyone can afford a high end site membership, so we are brainstorming ideas where different people can contribute different things. Some people used to trade cool products to the magazine for either magazines or advertising or press consideration.

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
I'd also like to point out that the purpose of this thread was to figure out how to give free memberships to cool members of the community who are unable to provide financial support.
Blue Blood could charge less for the things it charges for if we didn't give the community so much free stuff, but I think the people who can afford memberships should be happy to give a little more so that other people can also enjoy all the free stuff Blue Blood provides the scene.

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
i don't have any ideas...but i'm one of those broke people,haha....i'll play...
on a related note:i find nothing wrong with the price of it....it's certainly worth it..
-
Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
19.99 a month is certainly fair, considering what your getting access to.
-
Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
...well a cetain other site rewards people based on how many others they get to sign up. I think that would be the fairest thing to reward people for (bringing business into the site). maybe getting 10 others to sign up would equal a free membership for a month?
-
Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
I agree with you Forrest..i dont think scar or spiff cheated..they are respected members! :) Just stating a point that it *could* be a problem..but im one of those "damn you cheating bastards!" kinda guy lol..
i def. think Amelia has a valid point as well..if you CAN afford it..sign up! It's def. worth the 20 bucks for all those lushious galleries! I personally cannot afford it..stupid rent..lol..but thats life.
Im not sure how hard it is to code something like this but maybe you could set up a database with everybody who wants to participate with a unique refferal ID..then those people can earn *points* for various referrals...such as example:
1: 10 points for each new referral to the BB boards
2: 30 points for each new sign up to a membership site
3: 40 points for a refferal who purchases something on the BB boutique site (hoodies etc etc)
4: 1 point for each *legit* click through the banner exchange
It'll give people more of a chance who dont have their own website with banner exchange clicks to advertise your product to their friends..especially since many of us have that dreaded site that rhymes with dickface profiles..they post bulletins..people read them..sign up...

I remember way back when Amelia sent me an email about if i sent in my goggle designs she'd do a press consideration on em..i emailed back but never heard from her again about it :(

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
Kewl.
19.99 is more than fair. 99 a year is not bad. (looking for credit card).
I'm going to join next friday...we can join ahead of time, right???
You know what...I had NO IDEA of how many models you guys have shot over the years....whoa.
I just love Justine Joli and that "EVIL" tshirt. :thumb:
Gotta love it. Looks great.
It doesn't open in firefox, though. I had to use IE.

Re: What would you do for a BlueBlood.com membership?
1th u can register and then have a promotional link and for 5 or 10 (or 100) new members you invite to BB you get a membership.... so this will be some kind of pre-membership or just a membership without a "special" benefits
or have 1000 posts on BBB :) (I can only imagine spam here, leave it secret for BBB visitors only, no info on other sites)
