looks like your ripping off someones copyrighted artwork, and charging 7 bucks for a highschool bands show. get a better flier and make it for free and i'll be there.
Hmm. That green at the top doesn't blend to well, at least from what I see in the smaller picture. The text arrangement is fine, though.

It's cool. If I could make a few suggestions. I think you use to many different fonts. I'd pull the text off of the edges as well. It's hard to read and it looks like a mistake. Background image is cool.
No its not my art work, but from what I saw there was no copyright on the image (or a Creative Commons license). And the only reason we charge 7$ is because we're under 3 grand, thanks to someone in our club not knowing how to re-use stuff come production time. And there is the opportunity for people to save some money if they get a pre-show ticket.

I just mean in gerneral. You got 5 different type faces going on there, and visualy it's a little discombobulating. I don't know what's going on.

Well I can drop that down to 3 diff fonts, but I think it looks best having the headliner in a diff font than the rest. I can use the font that was used for the date for everything else.
move the picture, so the words are not over it. Use more of the same font. Im not digging the green either.
Still a much better job than I could have done, I have tried to make fliers before and failed miserably every time.
hey sorry, that came off sounding a lot more harsh then I intended it to. but um, I think you might want to tone it down a bit, maybe go with B&W. this really looks like a rave flyer, and im pretty sure that's not what you're going for. I can see that you're trying to set the theme of the artwork with the bands, which is definatly the right idea. I'd reccomend going with a photograph though, maybe a scene from a movie or something else that people will recognioze that fits in with the bands in an ironic/clever way. or else maybe go with some personalized art that people can identify with the bands themselves, kinda like on the old Black Flag flyers. Also you should maybe say something about how your trying to raise funds for the art dept. so people will be more willing to throw down the cash. Other then that, I don't have a problem with the text, but our members here have a keen eye for art, so ya know, you might want to listen to them.
I'm working on making it B&W. But this poster might just be in vain. Haha. The school administrators are being REAL dipshits about it. This guy that has been acting admin of our club...they say he can't sign anything for us. So we might not have a show. I've changed the pic to a blueish B&W pic. You'll see in a minute. I think it looks nice, but what do I know. Never took an art class. Heh.

I know the white font can be hard to read in some areas...any suggestions for colors?
The black and white looks better. I would ditch the old english style font as it is always hard to read. Keed that cool Blashpemy font for all the band names and big type. (that's the broken up font)
For the smaller type on the date and time etc... stick with something simple and more ledgible like Impact or Ariel Black.
Just my thoughts.

Move 'em in about 10 pixels.
Edit: Or just add a 10-15 pixel border around it. Black.

Yeah, that artwork is from a comic book, so yeah, it IS copyrighted, but I highly doubt anyone will really CARE, unless that flyer was for a mega arena event or something with more publicity. I like it!
The white font is tought to read where it intersects that graphic.
Put a few pixels worth of border around it in black so that it's easy to read everywhere.

To start with, I'd pick a better piece to put in the background. That's too low res to look good and to average to be a stylized "bad on purpose" look either.
