Betterlate than never...

I've just realised I hadn't posted an introduction of myself.

My name is John. I am 35, but 36 soon. I live in the North East of England, and I'm a civil servant. Not easy being a goth AND a government worker, but I try my best to not sell out too much (I mainly just tone down my t-shirts for work)

I live with my wife, a beautiful red head called Laura. We were married almost 6 years ago, in Whitby, North Yorkshire during the last Vampire Weekend that they held there. We go back each year for the Whitby Goth Weekend in October.

I like reading Horror & Sci-Fi books, comics and watching films. I am particularly fond of werewolf films.

wow. when i was working for the city council, it wasn't so much a matter of toning it down as disguising it completely. envy.

Thankfully, where I work, I'm nowhere near the public, so I don't need to hide my gothiness. It's rare that I see people from other departments, so I'm fine. Wandering around the site where I work, (I'm in charge of the Photocopiers there) I do see people that I know from previous departments I've worked in, so most people aren't too freaked out by my style of dress. I guess I'm luckier than most.

Heh heh, kinda cute how you two got married at Whitby. Sounds interesting.

We had always like the town, and we couldn't think of anywhere else to tie the knot. We told family and friends that all were well come if they were willing to travel down to Whitby, and there was no major hiccups (except the registrar stammered more than I did, which is strange in itself). My sisters, that are all blonde (when we were younger we looked like the children of the damned) really enjoyed themselves at the goth night that they held on the night we got married.

hey, hello and officially welcome even though i've seen you around here for a while. that sounds like the coolest wedding ever!

We were very lucky. Whitby is known for being a very rainy little fishing village, and the day we got married (just before Halloween, since it was the nearest we could get) it didn't rain at all. Of course the rest of the week it was so rainy that the river almost burst it's banks.

You may have noticed I've just changed my Avatar, so even though it looks similar, I changed it to look a little more like me.

Well, I've found a "picture" of me. I'm not really wearing purple. It's just the colour that had to be changed when I was "adding bits".

It was taken at a club I go to. It seems to be the only real Goth club left in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, UK.

It's a famous painting called Grey Line with Black ,Blue and Yellow (1923) by Georgia O'Keeffe. It's been said many of her paintings looked like female genitalia.
