Format for Posting Email Conversations
When people post email correspondance between a couple of parties, how do you like to see that formatted? A different color for each person? Italics or bold to differentiate? Just all the same text with the people's name's on it? Do you like to see all the headers from the emails?
Do you like to see commentary on them?
How can you best make sense of such data?
Re: Format for Posting Email Conversations
I really don't like seeing the headers. I'm not really fond of seeing the former Re: qouted every time too, unless I think that it's neccesary to the context of the current message.
I just prefer to see it in interview format: so and so says this, and so and so replies to it saying blah blah blah.
Re: Format for Posting Email Conversations
for example here's a snip from a recent convo that I have emailed to myself. (yes most of my email comes from me.)
"DuckKing2001: that's entirely subjective.
Atomatica: everything we say is subjective."
please note: I used my freinds qoute without her permission, so forget I said that. however, if you'd like to stalk me (duck king) feel free to. I only ask that when you are digging through my trash you please sort out the recyclables.

Do you recycle newspapers in your area or just glass and plastic?
Re: Format for Posting Email Conversations
i would say newspapers..as he said he's probably not a color coded plastic/glass kinda guy :)
just like the avatar..its all black and white.
Re: Format for Posting Email Conversations
sort of. supposedly those three can be recycled, but I've lost enthusiasm for the whole idea every since I started working at my job at the movie theater. pretty much 90% of our products are made from paper, and of course, everything that we have comes in boxes. the majority of them are made by Weyerhauser, the first company to sign a contract with the Indonesian regime resposnible for the massacre of thousands of unarmed peasants that resist the theft of thier land- to name just one star on thier shining resume. I know because it's my job to throw the boxes, as well as the other waste, probably around 50 pounds of paper supplies, in the trash can every day.
At first I wanted to take all of them home with me and recycle them myself, but this idea seemed pretty pointless since it will just continue on the days that I'm not there, and the surrounding business that do the exact same thing are a Lowe's Home Improvement which of course sells all sorts of lumber, and a Walmart which probably throws away about a thousand times as much as we do.
Re: Format for Posting Email Conversations
since this is off topic, to sum it up perfectly, in the words of Tyler Durden: "Recycling and speed limits are bullshit, it's like someone who quits smoking on thier deathbed."
