Thailand has had a military coup, a general took over the government buildings, while the primeminister was here in new york.
WTF?

I wasnt really paying much attention but I was watching CNN & i ffaintly remember hearing something about Thailand . . .
all i imagine right now is someone playing jumangi & risk at the same time.
I am willing to bet China is watching this event very closely.

...we'll see how this plays out though. the govt. was extreamly corrupt, and unpopular... depends on how it turns out.
I just hope this won't disrupt the child pornography rings that are so vital to the country.

That must be why secrity at the base is so high. Everyone is wearing flak jackets, kevlar head gear, and packin M16's. I even saw a grunt maning the 50cal in the bunker. This mourning everything was cool then tonight it was like war.

From what I've read, it was a bloodless coup, but tourists have been advised to avoid gathering in large groups, just in case. I wouldn't worry too much. Someone I work with was over there visiting her ex-pat son during Tsunami at Christmas, and we didn't know what had happened to her. She was fine, and she'll probably be visiting her son again.Quote:
