Things to do in Chicago

Im planning a trip with some friends to Chicago in a short time, and I wonder where to go for a good night out on the town. Anyone know places for dancing? Goth scene, or anything along that line would be excellent. Think HEX in LA , or KRAVE in Vegas..something along those lines.

Neo on the weekends, open till 4am. Exit on Thursday nights is BDSM night with Maya Sinstress. Thats usually where I hang out, but for the psychobilly/punk night downstairs.

I really want to go to Chicago other than for a connecting flight. It seems like such a vibrant city.

Thanks for the chicagogoth link; I'm moving to Chicago in a few months, and it will be nice to have something to do when I'm not going to school or working. (As if I'll ever have time between school and work...)

Hah, no, I'll avoid that. I don't like mendicants, and I don't like getting hassled. I prefer to avoid being outside unless I'm going somewhere that I have to (work, grocery shopping, school), or somewhere that I'm not likely to catch a lot of shit (concerts, clubs).

Maybe I'm just paranoid.
