Not like they are required to donate : )
I got a lot of crap I made around th house, I only wish that one of the people who tell me about how much I could make if I sold that stuff would bring a checkbook
and a long time ago I was whittling a stick in vancouver. Some old guy who'd been checking the progress over the few days that I was loitering gave me twenty bucks. I told him the stick would cost a bit more than that, he said absolutely and that I should just keep doing what I was doing, who knows maybe he was just another old gay guy trying to hit on me but what the hell, he gave me twenty bucks:D :D
what do you make? theres a market for everything. Its all about how you go about getting it advertised :)Quote:

ok... you got feeling for colors BUT you should work on forms or at least go take a some sort of quick course in painting to get the basics :)
I hope honesty is apriciated :P
:D
just keep on painting if you like it... my mom started when she was around 25 and blah blah.... progress... you know that stuff :)
I had this whole dick-headed response all set up which went something like "If you'd pay for MY naked pictures in return then no, you're not a whore." but imagine my surprise when I clicked the link and found actual art there.Quote:

Hell, it was worth a shot....
EDIT: That's not to say that naked pictures can't be art! Far from it. But apparently my 9th grade sense of humor just doesn't easily penetrate the "blue blood mindset"
nope ,dont make ya a whore ..
No more than it makes someone nice enough to contribute to you a john. Give it a shot. You never know. Even art needs funding.Quote:

did you get to paint the cats too? heh...
no cherry i'm actually trying NOT to paint the cats. the oil gets all sticky in their fur. Tuesday I will paint more and make updates to the thingy at the top of the page. If dear ol Voldta and crew have recovered from ScreamFest by then...

thanks for the offer but I've actually given up making anything, except for my house because I know that this shack won't last foreverQuote:

I'd say do it.
I've been contemplating doing the same thing to get some funds to help rent studio space for the photos I'm shooting for my documentary. Possibly even setting up a CafePress store so people can buy some documentary oriented stuff, like posters.
People who could afford to used to give money to artists years ago to act as their patrons. There was an understanding that an artist gave something worthy to society, even though it didn't have an economic amount attached to it. People gain from experiancing art and some of us realise that because of that it is worth paying something back to the artist.
It doesn't cheapen it by making a transaction. It is a way for those who gain from what you do to show you appreciation and their understanding of the importance of your work, as well as insuring that the work continues.

tips: respect your art and price it good... that way everybody wil respect it better...
price it high and you'll get high response...but don't overprice it, you need to learn the limit :D
that's what I call ART.... selling your own art :)
yeah :D whatever you decide to do, good luck with it :D
you could be a millionaire hehee!
ive been really thinking about selling some of my bead patterns i made lately... just for some bead money... (beads are expensive, ew) heh this makes me think more... i might just do it!
(anyone want to see my patterns ill post a thread ;) i think some are really cool, even if you dont do beadwork)
spend a few days with me at work and you'll see what a whore really is
if you're going to sell out keiko, hold out for $500 million....
...but hey selling your art isn't selling out. i used to have trouble with the idea, but i now reconize that as not having had the confidence in the value of my own art. that and not having worked enough dishwashing jobs :1orglaugh
now i know the only difference between the stuff i make, and the stuff that sell for thousands, if not millions is my PR.
go for it girl!
(we'll talk about the other whore business later.)
Ooh ooh. I got kissed.Quote:
