Woman goes to give birth; comes out quad-amputee
......wow

Claudia Mejia from Sanford, USA, says she will never be able to hold her newborn because an Orlando hospital performed a life-altering surgery and, she claims, the hospital refuses to explain why they left her as a multiple amputee. The woman says the hospital won’t tell her exactly what happened.
Claudia Mejia gave birth eight and a half months ago at Orlando Regional South Seminole. She was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando where her arms and legs were amputated. She was told she had streptococcus, a flesh eating bacteria, and toxic shock syndrome, but no further explanation was given. The hospital, in a letter, wrote that if she wanted to find out exactly what happened, she would have to sue them. [link]

yet another reason to fear child birth
Re: Woman goes to give birth; comes out quad-amputee
That's why I give birth at home :thumb:
A couple days ago a woman in seattle gave birth while her husband was driving in the carpool lane. She just put one leg up on the dashboard and had the baby

A non-financial reason?
Fucked up story though.
Re: Woman goes to give birth; comes out quad-amputee
I went to the dr. with a small cough, and sinus pressure... I should have known something was wrong when the Dr. told me to take off my pants...
Then i was air lifted 500 miles away to undisclosed hospital, in the middle of the desert. I was held there without food or water for 17 weeks...
They finally let me go... But ever since that experience I can't help but to look at deli-sandwiches with disgust and repulsion.
Re: Woman goes to give birth; comes out quad-amputee
I had a Dr in a fla hospital mangle me with a speculum and a catheter thinking i was having a miscarriage when i told him, by the time he got around to looking at me two hrs after i was admitted, that it was freaking food poisoning.
And yeah major lawsuit. I would sue till suing went out of style and then sue some more. I'm with Voldta on this one.

They DID give her a reason. She knew about the procedure and approved it. If you read the non-slanted follow ups, she went in to give birth, contracted staph and then had to be amputated. This was all done WITH her knowledge.
Re: Woman goes to give birth; comes out quad-amputee
atleast she didnt loose her head over it........
*gets coat*
Re: Woman goes to give birth; comes out quad-amputee
