Are you cursed with a MORBID CURIOSITY??????
I have kinda always been fascinated with death.
I like to get books about serial killers and photo books of people who've been killed.
I HATE videos of car crashes or even violent films.
I am currently taking a really long time to read this book on forensics that Billy leant me.
When I go to Necromance I feel all sad that I don't have more cash to spend.
My best pal is studying forensic science in school right now.
I went to the Body Worlds Exibit.
How about u guys? Do u have a morbid curiosity as well??????
Re: Are you cursed with a MORBID CURIOSITY??????
Oh yeah, but wait.... I am a vegitarian.....
I have a pigeon preserved in formaldehyde with all it's innards showing
A wig with antlers coming out of it and cow vertibrae that I made
A rat fetus in a jar with this solution that makes all the soft tissue transparent and all the bones red and blue
A bat in a frame on the wall
2 raccoon penis bones
a disgusting chicken foot that someone gave me
a havalina skull I picked clean in Maui
A coyote skull (I think) I found in Mexico
And perhaps a few other little trinkets.....
Re: Are you cursed with a MORBID CURIOSITY??????
I am but my life's experiences also dictate it. I was even before they did however. Thanatology (study of mortality and death) is a major theme in my life. It always will be. I'll give u links and go into details at some point. I'm kinda just gelling for May til my move.

Re: Are you cursed with a MORBID CURIOSITY??????
I am fascinated with death, crime and all sorts of mayhem. I took a few forensics classes myself and run a little forum that discusses death, murder and mayhem etc (http://fwtbt.com)http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n...rateSkull2.gif I have several books on forensics and there is a book called Wisconsin Death Trip that is absolutely amazing if you're into that sort of thing. I would love to start collecting memento mori, which are old time photographs of the dead. My fear and fascination with death run hand in hand.

i don't know. I think a lot of it has to do with my religious baptist upbringing and knowing even at the age of 5-6 that I was damn well a sinner. I've moved past it but I still have a fear of the unknown. Really tho it's not my death that concerns me, but my loved ones, my children, my husband. those are the deaths that scare me.

wisconsin death trip is a book that takes old town records and photos. from a town in wisconsin that just had all sorts of murder suicide and mayhem happening, at the turn of the previous century. It really is an amazing read and i recommend it. Plus if anyone is into "freaks of nature" I recommend Jan Bondeson's books on medical curiousities. He's a really excellent author, and makes presents freaks as they are, real people. The bedside book of death is also good.

ah k. I understand this perspective. It is healthy. I do still fear the death of my mother and all relatives younger than me. I also fear dying before my mother. So yeah: That's actually different than a fear of mortality.

yes. I don't really fear my own death, im curious... but I do dread if i were to outlive my children, that fills me with fear...or when my own parents go.. horrid. I really don't want to die young for the sake of my children, because I know that would fuck them up.
I accept my role in the scheme of the universe and honestly I relish it...im not so much afraid to die, but afraid to live through the deaths of those i love
Re: Are you cursed with a MORBID CURIOSITY??????
