If you have a solid legal claim on the domain name, ICANN ajudication is around $900 last I checked, so you should be able to negotiate down to $900 or less if the person is technically a cybersqatter. I'm not sure what area of law you are concentrating in, but cybersquatters generally do want to sell, so, if you can hold your nose long enough to negotiate with them, you can probably at least get a better price. I've certainly never enjoyed having to give a cybersquatter anything though, so much sympathy.
