pick and era...any era....

well...im kinda bored at the moment, so i figured it might be appropriate to ask a deeply searching, insightful (blah blah blah) question of anyone even remotely interested.

basically, if you had the option of going to live in any era of recorded history for a period of time, when would it be?

personally, i think i could enjoy the dark ages for a while...the whole filthy, dirty, riding around on horses brandishing swords and other exciting jaunts intended to impress the pants off of the filthy, dirty peasant girls....

*ahem* kind of lost my train of thought....

anyway...when will it be?

17th/18th century. But going back with all I know no so I can avoid diseases and dying. And preferrably, I'd love to live in France. :)
I also would love to go back and meet the Marquis...(de sade)...I have a feeling me and him would've gotten along famously with our kink levels!

I'd go back to the 18th Century and arm the kozaks with AK-47s, win the Battle of Poltava, and take out Charles II for good measure. I would thus change history for the better. There would have been no Imperial Russia or USSR after we whooped their despotic arses back to Moscova. Further, the Brits and Germans may well thus fear our batshit crazy asses too much to invade over Crimea or some sick "racial" theory that came of age in the 1930s.

Pre-history, so I could start off a new species of humans that are more advanced than the natives, making them obsolete.

sick as this might sound.. l'd love to go back into the late 30's.. but maybe as a brit... become a fighter pliot... knowing the battle of brit would occur over the skies of london.. with so many planes never before never again.. wait come to think of it.. i was killed over there.. been fightin bad guys for centuries ;P

wouldn't mind living back in viking days. also 1930's spain would be cool, kicking it with orwell.

How to choose? In order of preference:

1) 1920s France or New York
2) 1890s Paris
3) 1940s New York
4) 1950s Chicago Blues scene

My significant other says her choices are:
1) Roaring '20s (post Flu pandemic, pre-Depression)
2) Ancient Egypt
3) Ottoman Istanbul in the 1700s (preferably in a harem) (but only a sexy harem, not one with all that sexual violation and disease and shit. OK, she says... well, maybe just a little sexual violation.)
4) The Paris Commune of the early 1870s

I would love to live in the 1980's with my knowledge of the computers today.

As a sidenote: Peter the Great was known to love midgets (sexually) haha u might try the 18th Century too. Be sure to off him after the show though. Would save me a lot of trouble in this thime travel fantasy.
