Whats your politcal philosophy?

Blueblood needs some more juicy political discussions.

The purpose of this thread is to tell what your political following is (I.E, Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green, Anarchist, Nazi, Socialist, etc etc etc.)

And..for fun, what kind of government do you believe to be the best (I.E, Democracy, Republic, Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Monarchy, Collective, etc).

I'll start..

My politcal following is an independent moderate. I have very liberal views on personal freedoms (marriage, pro-choice, firearms, etc) and some weirdly opposite views on the economy (Pro Union, anti-nafta, against socialized medicine).

And as far as what government I believe would be best.. I'll have to go for the tried and true Republic with a swing towards capitalism. Maybe i'm biased having grown up in America but it works for us. It allows you to advance based upon your own ambition. You have the chance to rise socially from the lowest levels to some of the highest based upon your individual efforts (even though the chance is small..it still exists.) The election of officals to represent you in Government speeds of the politcal machine and allows changes to occur faster then in a pure democracy.

I'm registered green. Im for socialized medicine and utilities. I am pro gay marriage and pro choice, tho I don't think abortion should be the first thing we turn to. I hate capitalism and think it breeds corruption and pain. I am completely for the legalization of marijuana and the decriminalization of most drugs. I think we have too many people in jail, esp. who should not be there, while child rapists and murderers get a free ride. I completely oppose the death penalty.

I guess my politican leanings are more libertarian than anything. I think we need to be conservative with our $ and keep the government out of our personal lives. Which to me means, don't tell people who to marry, what to read, what to believe in, what to do with their bodies etc. Economically I do agree with the anti-nafta anti-socialized medicine, no more spending.

As far as the government goes, Republican the way they used to (an old scary white guy who watched my $) Personal responsibility, limited government in peoples personal lives and fiscally conservative behavior. I am a big fan of Capitalism, it is amoral and everyone has a chance, which many people in the rest of the world do not have. Besides if I earn something I don't think I should have to share it, I earned it.

My politics tend to be a tad confused. I find myself supporting some ideas the BNP have, but I'm not a fascist. I believe not everyone was created equal, be that 2 white people or whatever. We are all different, with different skills and abilities. How can you say a 90lb weakling is the equal of say Mike Tyson?
I guess I'm a bit of an anarchist...

I am something of a libertarian socialist. I like as few laws as possible, but I know better than to rely on the invisible hand of the free market.

I am a independent left voter though issues are based individual choices rather than party lines.
I support a democratic distribution of preference voting government based on three levels of federal, state and local, and split into a legislature, executive and judiciary.
I support social services, restrictive firearms laws, removal of some drugs from restricted listings, removal of restiction on most pornographic material
Really I believe that restrictions should only be placed where the action harms oneself or another.

I also like good Industrial Relations laws

on the subject of the topic, I have no political standing that I can identify with. some of my views are extremly conservavtive some extremly liberal; even radical..... I don't really care either.
