Sex Or Violence?????

It's the age old question, but we might as well all be up on each other's opinions!!!!

WHAT OFFENDS YOU MORE, SEX OR VIOLENCE????

I hate violence. There are limited kinds I can tolerate in movies. If it is essential to the story that they show it I put up with it, if it is a story I like any ways. When the story is 'must catch bad guys bang bang!!!' I just skip the cinematic experience all together :-)

There are many kinds of sex I don't enjoy watching, I am super NOT into porn movies, but I am 100% comfortable with nudity. I can't figure out the big hang up about it, I have been a nudist for a long time and I find that being nude is liberating.

So surprise suprprise, I am more offended by VIOLENCE!

BAD sex is the only thing offensive to me. Nudity is good. Porn is lame but if others need it, so be it. Violence ... I have become more non-violent in my outlook. Overuse of violence in cinema is more silly than offensive.

Out of context, violence bothers be much more. If I'm flipping channels late at night and pop onto a crazy sex act, I'm like wow, bonus, but every once in a while I'll be flipping through and POW somebody suddenly gets stabbed in the eye or some lady is screaming bloody murder or something I really didn't want to see or hear. I hate that.

I suppose that goes for real life too. If I go to a party and there are people having sex in the back yard hot tub, I don't really mind, but if some knuckleheads are beating the snot out of each other, it kinda ruins the fun for me.

I suppose that's kinda odd given that I watch WAY more UFC than porn. :confused:

Don't mind violence in movies. But I don't like sex if it's violent (and I don't just mean kinky.)

I guess ditto for real life. after all, they say make love not war. so violence is defiantly the more offensive. people enthralled in passion doesn't bother me at all. well if I'm stuck in a room with it and I'm not particpating, then I'm not too happy, but ya know...

Hearing some good sex puts a smile on my face. I put on my tunes as I don't *really* get into it, but I'm giving my housemate an old comp for being a good lay. Multiple styles and positions, nice slapping motion, major noise. Those chicks would make me breakfast if I asked. If I just hear rhythmic screaching of bedsprings, I get annoyed. The tunes go on either way, but you can always vibe what's going on behind the green door. If I experience mediocre sex, I get really annoyed. This applies to any sexuality. It's all about quality not quantity.

I intend never to go violent unless it is a legitimate self-defense situation. I will exercise my rights (including the use of weapons) to the full extent the MN Constitution, statutes, and local licensing laws currently allows (oh yeah I read em) . I'm not going to bother with the pseudo-bravado of a fist fight from here on out. If cornered, I'll do the funky chicken. It works too.

i think it all depends on how the violence or sex is displayed...
for instance: two ugly people being nude and having sex makes me vomit, i sorry but it really does( never go to swedens beaches).
But if they are hot... or at least OK then im fine with it...

same thing with violence... just look at the ufc, half naked muscular guys beating the crap out of eachother, and everybody loves it just because they are hot or have a nice body.
i mean does ANYONE watch WRESTLING?!? didnt think so....

i try advoiding fights and shit .guess im gettin too old for that crap ,, ya i said OLD, so "blow me"< sex ,,,,if i said "Bite me "<violence..and then there's the stand by" bite me then blow me" ; violent sex ....my fav !!
not a big fan of violence,i dont enjoy it much on the tube on in movies any more ,i dont mind porno's there ok when your bored to death and shit...

Depends on the violence being potrayed. Videogames? Im cool with that, Movies? Okay with it sometimes (depends how over-the-top stupid its being). Real life Violence? I like watching people do ufc, box, fistfight, brawl etc. I don't like seeing people die or watch innocent people get hurt badly.

Sex? I'm not a fan of prostitution or of sex being used as an advertisement tool. Yeah I look at porn and watch adult videos, but I purchased/downloaded them and use it in the privacy of my own house. I guess public displays of sex are offensive to me is what I'm getting at.

Pedophillia/****/Abuse/Prostituion/Sexual slavery/Vice/Excessive Hedonism/..are a mix of violence and sex..and are the most repulsive and anger inducing things I can think of.

So out of the both I guess violence.

I do not find myself inherently offended by either. It takes blatant exploitation or truly undeserved physical reprisals to be on my radar as a negative.

For me, sex and violence are just aspects of life; sometimes pretty, sometimes ugly, but generally inescapable, and better to just accept as they are.

I always see senseless violence ... like just gunning someone down and moving along like nothing happened/or its ok because its deemed necessary therefore needs no other consideration...
To me, a person is somebody's baby... A LIFE... and to waste them without regard is the most callous profanity.

Just the same as most porn lacks passion. When its all staged and faked... something thats also meant to be of value is cheapened.
And to me the thrill is gone.

Maybe its the devaluation in both regards that offends me the most.

violence, only the wrongest type of sex could offend me. and that is like, **********, ****, that sort of thing.

sad to say i have had passions with both... and they both bring out the same but totally different emotions.. if that makes any sense. years ago when i only knew pain.. i'd get into fights just to let myself feel... sad i know... those days are gone... meaning less sex was not much better..... lmao.. i don't think i can offer anything here... cept that

It depends if you are talking about cinema, entertainment, or real life...

If you are talking about movies, porn, comics, etc, then both are fine.

But in real life, I'm much more happy to see live sex, than live violence. I'm not likely to be shocked or repulsed by people having sex in public, but seeing a real car accident with nasty injuries, is not my idea of a fun time.

Even the real life violence that people are drawn to, like horrible accidents they show on those tv shows like "MOST EXTREME!", or crap like that, it's still about the shock and horror of the incident. It's not "enjoyable" the same way sexuality is.
