Why did you join Blue Blood?
Apart from the people who are whipped daily by a cubicle manager and told to join forums so they can casually mention medication prices, why did you walk into a place like this?
- and has it turned out how you expected?
I was looking for someplace without any links to people I work with, where I can mope about and have conversations with people who have:-
1) brain cells and some clue what the 1980s were.
2) a tiny hope of understanding my sense of humor.
3) no interest in why I'm here and not devoting time to the aforementioned clients.
Found BB by following crumbs from Amelia's LJ posts, and yeah, it's lived up to the expectations - though way quieter than I'd have guessed given the subject matters being posted!

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
Dude, I am so lulling you all into a false sense of security, so I can spring my Viagra purchasing and Vioxx Class Action pitch on you.

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
Lured in by the thought of intelligent conversation.
And sexy dames.

I saw them post on the journal of a guy I had found on lj that I knew as a little kid. I instantly recognized both of them from the print BB. Shot a few messages. Got the link. Like you, it was a nice diversion from the daily projects/folks at the time. Been 3 years :)
My life has actually changed quite a bit in the interrum. It's been a nice constant when I'm up for online communications. It's an odd medium, but I think BB has done it pretty well.:thumb:

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
Came here as a result of reading Amelia G's ******* article posts, especially the one about Harlan Ellison being..well.. Harlan Ellison a few weeks back.
Have generally enjoyed it here, and rather like the people I've met thus far, especially a certain Ms. Obscure Zan, to whom I'll say a quick Konnichi Wa!!!, right here.
That's it for me. Next!!!

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
I always read the BB mags and then found the forum after browsing for them again. I browsed for a bit before i registered to make sure it was real people having good conversations and not a bunch of nettards with random BS. After seeing some genuine conversations i decided to join and haven't regretted it since.
Even though i think some of you find me annoying ha.. ;)

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
I was on the LAgoth.net message board, and it was very low-traffic, and very quiet, so I got bored, wanted more people to chat with, and to waste time online, so I did a search for other goth type message boards. So I actually found this message board, before I found out about all the hot pictures! Haha!

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
i think i was still a under 18 teenager when i discovered an issue of the print magazine "blue blood." it featured things that were of interest to me, that most of my friends viewed as 'strange' or 'weird.' many years later i would run across an ad for blue blood in another magazine, either "Marquis" or some goth mag. i decided to check the site out here i am.

No one knows why, but everything online, including BB, seems to slow down during the summer. Then, as summer comes to a close, we start to get more of an influx of cool new folks and die hards posting more too.

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
My husband found you for me and made me sign up "finally people who think kinda like us and have an eye for true beauty" ... ok well he bugged me until I visited then I signed up totally voluntarily. He lurks here occasionally and is a great admirer of Amelia's and Forest's talents.
Interestingly he totally surprised me the other day by saying wow you are a senior member on Blue Bloods! I guess I've been around for a bit ... thanks for putting up with me!

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
I joined because it looked like a cool community to join. And I wasn't disappointed!

Excellent - I've been using a friend of the brother of the ex-Nigerian Minister of Health but with the dollar currently worth a little less than the paper it's printed on, I can be persuaded to switch.
I assume that BB meds will be sent with the infamous free "I'm walking funny because of Blueblood.com" t-shirt?
-
Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
Basically, I like tattoos and piercings, and I have a bit of a fascination with girls who pose semi or fully naked and display them! haha.
I can't stand that so many places with such models and photo sets make you pay even to use the forum, so when I came across this site I was quite impressed, and everybody here is so nice! So, I'm definitely not disappointed! :D

Interesting. Have been using a cousin of a brother of an acquaintance of the Togolese Minister For Overseas Export, Development, and Doggie Bags For Switzerland myself, and haven't gotten any results thus far.
Then again, that's what one gets when one pays bribes in Confederate Dollars, rather than Yankee Greenbacks!!!!
And if y'all believe that, I've some lovely oceanfront property near Tonopah, Nevada, I'd like to sell you!!!!:1orglaugh

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
theres a nice variety of intelligence here

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
the forum i used to go to pretty much died. there was mourning and tears and hysterical wailing in the rain in mysterious graveyards, you know, the usual stuff, until one day i accidentally came across this site due to a googled typo. well, i guess goth moves in mysterious ways because it is exactly what the doctor prescribed - intelligent, humorous and alternative culture in twice-daily doses.
of course, since i started hanging here my psychiatrist has informed me that his psychiatrist says he isnt allowed to see me anymore :-s

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
My hunny actually signed me up for it. He was a fan of the mags way back when and thought it would be awesome if I was shot for the website. The best way to do that was to get in good with the ppls. So I started posting...and discreetly begging. That was way back in July of 04. I've just wasted afternoons here ever since, mostly cause no one's told me to fuck off yet...

Noone will on my watch. Chatting with some of you guys has amazed me. As different as I am from some folks in "the business", I find a great deal of similarity in our overall outlook on a lot of things. That isn't the case for me with people in general. Most lack the candor for me to even know for sure.

Did you post on here a few years ago? Haha, I was hardly a nice person, unless...you know...you flattered me;p

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
I still dont know what the hell brought me here.
I dont even know what state I was living in to be honest. But apparantly I contacted them, and then saw Forrest in a bar or two over time (and had to keep writing my phone number down on napkins for him, haha...or maybe that was once, I write on napkins alot...) and the rest is history.
I really found quite a few good friends on here that I converse with over the web quite a bit. I have a crazy life, and appriciate people who appriciate that;]

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
I googled blueblood and checked out the forums. It held my interest, and though I didn't always agree with every opinion, I like that most people here can back up their thoughts with reasons, and aren't quick to dismiss what others say. Oh, and boobs.

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
naked chicks...duh..and you guys are all alright too

Amelia told me to, and, yes, it's pretty much what I expected -- make of that last part what you will.

Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
i dont actually remember how i found this site, but the thing that made me stick to it was and still is simple.
every single intresting person with a sense of homour like my own gathered on a single site....
now how could someone not like that.... ?
-
Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
I honestly don't remember, but the most obvious difference versus other forums I've come across - conversations are thoughtful and civil.
-
Re: Why did you join Blue Blood?
probably found this place through advertising, I like it here, everyone's intelligent
