BURNING MAN!!!! (pix)

When I came home from Burning Man this past month I noticed you all were on here talking about The Man being burned early. I would just like to mention for those of you who read any of his interviews that he is a shitty representation of Burning Man, a complete idiot, and should no way influence your opinions of the most fantastical place on earth. Perhaps what makes BM so incredible is that it exists only for such a short time, whereas if the city was there full time it might become tainted and mirror actual society. Luckily it exists in a strange temporary state of perfection, just once a year, and I count the days till my next advenure there :-)

Scar: from these pics, it seems pretty apparent that you and your friends had a pretty good time up there.

Oh, and please tell your friend Mykal Binds that I really loved the sky effects in the first shot of his that you posted here.

Having grown up in the Reno-Sparks area of Northern Nevada, I think I can say with some knowledge of the subject, that the sky up there is extremely beautiful, and I think he did it justice.

On a side note, what the hell? A personal machine that plastic wraps food?

oh those food machines are AWESOME... you stick your food in the little bags meant for the machine and it sucks out all the air and seals it, then you can freeze it or whatever you want, its so cool!! wish i had one hehee... id stick everything in there for freezing. no more ziplock bags getting too frosty to see whats in em! haha!!

What's funny about the food saver picture, I first thought was "Why is she putting food in her printer?"

But, yeah, I'd love on those, too.

And I really need to go to Burning Man one year. I know too many people who go. And these photos really make it hard not to want to go.

Yeah, that is my vacuum sealer machine. I pre-made all my food and food for 3 of my friends, vacuum sealed it and froze it. The food kept itself frozen for 4 days without any ice in the cooler. The bags are also made so you can reheat your food by dropping them into boiling water. So not only did I have home made health food I had no dishes. It was genious.

scar gets extra bonus points for not having to was dishes :D

How much did it run you?

**Oh and..before I forget to ask. How much does it run you for burning man? Always wanted to go..

Your photos make me happy and break my heart. Because I had arm surgery, I couldn't go this year. Of course, all my friends came back with great stories.

I even miss the dust storms. in fact, those storms are some of best memories. I remember a few years back, there was a storm that lasted for all aternoon. I was huddled in my tent, listening to music until I got fed up with hiding. I put on my leathers, wrapped my face in my desert scarf, grabbed some goggles and went out into the storm. I was happy to see hundreds of other people doing the same thing--playing croquet, riding bikes, drinking at center camp and wandering around naked in gale force winds. I love death-defying loons.

Oh man! i so want to go to burning man! i WILL get to it one day... Sooner rather than later.
