Inspired by Fionn mac Cumhaill stories from Irish mythology. He lived for seven years with a poet on the banks of the Boyne, trying to catch the Salmon of Knowledge. Apparently if you caught it and ate it, you would know everything there was to know. Got it to remind me that acquiring knowledge takes persistence.

Took about an hour, Sean at Boldersyde Tattoo is a genius. My line art, his shading.

The other shoulder is a bull skull in a similar style.

then again every time i go to kamloops half the fuckin town is changed and/or new... 10 years and i wont be able to recognize it at all.

ah, i initially thought it was just a shark. salmon of knowledge is way better. i only remember parts of that story from my celtic mythology class(8 years ago). i need to reread it.
