This time next week i'll be in NY anxiously awaiting the morning that will see me on board the QM2 and on my way to England. I have got to get packing!
I know there are a few ppl here that live in both NY and Europe, what exactly should i make sure to bring to these destinations?

That sounds like a lot of fun. I can't wait to hear what the trip is like and stuff. I've never taken a ship someplace far away.
Have fun!! Im scared to fly overseas, so I'd have to take a boat too. Take lots of photos :)

...well, okay plastic is probably good too, but it's damn expensive in this burg, unless you know where to go... i used to eat in chinatown alot because i could get decent food for less than $5... not super healthy food though, so i stopped going every day... (bowl of homemade rice noodle soup with greens for $2... with lots of chili sauce...mmm.)
um, other than that... since ghouliani told the cops that it was okay to shoot to kill for anything, it's been relatively quite around here... 'death wish' and 'the warriors' are ancient history at this point... :rolleyes: (ah, the bad ol' days...)
Depending on where you're going in the UK, you may need to brush up on local language. You may have problems with accents if you're going outside of London. (Even then, you'll have to deal with the Cockney accent)
One thing I will say is, in the UK, the word FANNY means a different part of a woman's anatomy to what Americans refer to. :lol: Never go up to someone in a pub and say "I can't sit down anymore, my fanny hurts!" They'll look at you as if you have 5 heads!
Search the net for clubs you'll be interested in (be it Goth, Punk, Dance or whatever). If you're touring around Europe, it might be worth you visiting various clubs that have a good reputation or write up. Just a thought.

i'm really good with accents really, i dunno if it's from watching alot of British tv shows or what, but i think i can mimic them all :p:

The Whitby Goth Weekend is a bi-annual event, usually around Easter and Halloween. The next one is in 2 weeks time. It's probably too late to get accomodation for a day or two, but you may be able to find something, if you're interested. There is a lot of things going on. Though, I will say that Whitby is a tad hard to get to, unless you want to brave public transport or you have your own transport. It always feels odd walking around the streets and feeling UNDERDRESSED and/or admiring people's outfits. Not being harrassed for wearing goth clothing is also a novelty, even though I've been going for years.
Geordie is the accent spoken by the locals of North East England, usually from Newcastle upon Tyne. Famous Geordies include Sting, Rowan Atkinson and Jimmy Nail (if you ever see a show called Auf Wiedersehen, Pet then you'll have heard of him)
