Do you ever wish you could talk to dead people?
Sometimes something happens and I really want to tell my maternal grandmother about it. Sometimes there is a holiday and I think of how much she would enjoy celebrating it. She never really got into the internet, although I think she would have loved it, if she had given a low res monitor a chance or been healthier when it first started getting well-used. I really miss her.
Do you ever wish you could talk to someone who is dead, even if just for a few minutes?

For me its my maternal Grandmother too. Ma was a pistol, she was the one who told me its perfectly normal to have a crush on a girl, why when she was in boarding school back in England ...
Admittedly she had partaken of a G&T or three by that point in the evening but wow I miss her. She taught me what fork to use when and how to get away with a naughty joke at the dinner table.
Another funny one was when my boyfriend (now husband) asked how old a table was (he had an interest in antiques) her response was 'quite' in her uppercrust English accent. Miss you Ma.

Who says you can't? Just because she isn't replying doesn't mean she's not listening.

Re: Do you ever wish you could talk to dead people?
I wish I could talk to my mums dad. The way everyone talks about him its like he hung the moon and lit all the stars himself. And he painted my picture the year before he died - a good 10 years before I was 5 yrs old - which is how old i was in the picture he painted. (I guess I get my "psychic" gene from him).
My maternal grandmother still has Grandpa Otto's last name, even though she's been married... i think twice... since he died.
He seems like he was a pretty cool dude. I'd love the opportunity to talk to him.

Haha.... oh lordy.
I wish I could, well, >.>; The dead are pretty talkative.

Re: Do you ever wish you could talk to dead people?
Never. I mean... Ok, not NEVER. When it comes to Grandpa, Great Grandparents, I wish I could listen to their stories, know them, watch them...
I talk to them all the time, but they don't talk back. I think its for the better, I would think that being the one person to really be talking to the dead would be like being one nice young person in a retirement home. EVERYONE would try to talk your ear off.

Re: Do you ever wish you could talk to dead people?
Seeing as I rarely care what most of the living peopl I know have to say...not really. Beyond the obvious questions of course...are there corndogs, do I need to bring a coat etc.

Just think it makes everything taste better.

I believe you can invoke your connection with a deceased person. They are the ultimate listeners. The silence tells you is is.

Re: Do you ever wish you could talk to dead people?
Who doesn't talk to dead people? I mean seriously, I think I have heard most of my friends with relatives who've passed on mutter some words aloud as if the person were still standing there. Stuff like seeing a picture and mummering outloud "God I miss you" or "Oh. I love you so much" really quiet maybe so no one else would hopefully hear, but I have defintely seen it done.

I would love to. Sometimes I think I hear people talking to me, but I dont know if Im crazy or Im actually hearing stuff. Its usually when I run water or have the hair drier on. I shut it off and silence. Too many *weird* things Ive heard. I had a conversation once while I was drying my hair, turned it off and realized noone was home. Silence.
I might need medication.

A woman passed away in the house I live in. My older 3 kids were in school, my husband and baby were asleep, the dogs were even outside, and I had set Sarahs juice box on the table before I put her down for her nap. I went to the bathroom, as I walked bak into the room, almost half the remaining juice squirted out of the box like someone had grabbed it. So if you ned meds, so does my daughters juice box.

Sounds like some experiences I had like a door slamming shut right next to me while everyone was sleeping. Only thing is, to close this door you had to drag it hard across the carpet. No way a breeze or anything could have done it.

Re: Do you ever wish you could talk to dead people?
Don't really hit the topic but I'll mention it anyway.
My mom's boyfriend killed him self due to depression and high pressure from public and press. He was one of the best Yugoslavian movie stars. Natural artist. Night when it happended both me, my mom and my sister dreamed same dream. I saw the place where it happened and inside this small house I met him. He was telling me to not worry, that everything will be okay and he will allways watch over us.
When we woke up I told my mom about the dream. Then we realised that all 3 of us dreamed same dream... My mom knew something was wrong.
Later that day we recieved a call about that he hanged up himself.

Re: Do you ever wish you could talk to dead people?
You CAN talk to dead people- they can also communicate with you various ways- EVP, Ouija, Automatic writing, and also in dreams. I used to be able to see 'ghosts' when I was a child. I went to Longwood college and my whole sensitivity to stuff like that blew up- it didn't help when you stayed in the haunted dorm that used to be the army hospital back during the civil war!
But you can talk/communicate with them and they can also do so with you- you just have to know HOW. :)
