Anyone Have Plans for the Ides of March?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ides_of_March
Having a lot of theater and arts up here, there are folks who like to celebrate 3/15 as kind of a gag. Some throw parties. Some are going to a macabre exhibit at a local museum (the more goffy preferring this)
Anyone have plans for the Ides?

I will be protesting with some friends at the Founding Church of Scientology in D.C. as part of Project Chanology. I'd include a link for more info, but I haven't made 15 posts yet.

The thing is that I can really kinda get it (scientology.) Since people just worship money nowadays anyway (You can't say God in court or in class, but it's written right there in everyone's wallet.) it's pretty fitting that people are getting behind a religion whose dogma espouses buying your way to salvation.

Well, since St Patrick's Day is being moved to the 15th, I may have a pint of Guinness.
The reason they are moving it was it is the same week as Easter, so they couldn't have a Bank Holiday on the Monday in Ireland then have Good Friday as a Bank Holiday as well.

Re: Anyone Have Plans for the Ides of March?
Julius Caesar is often looked upon by historians as a bloodthirsty megalomaniac whose only wish was to topple the Republic and install himself as King.
I personally would like to believe that he was a patriotic Roman who had seen the corrupt side of the greasy-palmed Senate and knew that an abrupt change was the only way to save Rome from a “mob-ruled” establishment.

I personally believe both to be true.
