Bands/Songs/Albums you've given a second listen?
I was hanging with a musician friend of mine last weekend, and he mentioned the album "Abigail" by King Diamond.
I have to admit, the first time I heard King Diamond, with his clunky English, accent and weird falsetto stylings, I nearly peed myself laughing.
But I gave the album a 2nd listen this week after having only heard it the once in the 80s, and I have to admit, it's not bad. I'm looking past Diamond's voice and hearing what my friend was saying - some clever guitar work and some damn good drumming.
Anything you guys initially passed on but are now saying "hey, wait...."?

oddly enough, it took a second listen and a year or two for me to understand the sound of nine inch nails' first album. and to find that style of music extremely appealing.

theres been a couple of bands that ive listened to and hted, then given them a second chance and flipped my opinion completely, but i dont think i could ever ignore part of the usic i hated to listen to the rest - if i dont like a singers voice, then i cant listen to their music, no matter how good everything else is. for example, while dream theater are incredible musicians, sometimes LaBrie's voice grates on me (only on some songs though), and despite the awesome guitarwork by Dragonforce the drumming bores me.

VnV Nation was a band that first turned me off..but now I love them. Same thing with Cruxshadows..it took me awhile to accept/learn to enjoy such a different sound (I was accustomed to metal/hard rock etc). Now Cruxshadows and VnV are my favorite bands.
Re: Bands/Songs/Albums you've given a second listen?

Maybe it's old age, but in the last few years I have found out that Toto actually have some good stuff.
Re: Bands/Songs/Albums you've given a second listen?
The March Violets. I recently realised that the style of music has a lot in common with the B-52s.
Re: Bands/Songs/Albums you've given a second listen?
Jeff Buckley .... his music is pure sex. But it takes a few listens to really catch the groove.
Pitbull, a latin (cuban) rapper from Miami... Its not typical rap, and its got that whole Florida flavor.... There's some bondage references, and dom/submissive stuff mingled in there. Dammit man (with Lil Flip)
theres 2 versions and both deserve a listen. Hilarious!!!!!
Theres all kinds of music that requires another listen....
One day its just hideous and the next day ya pick it up and its the best thing in the world and the thing ya NEED.
Cross Canadian Ragweed have a few good songs that just gets under the skin in a good way. Maybe I miss your body
Boys from oklahoma (I dont approve of the gay 'humor' in the song but otherwise it rocks)
Hawksley Workman Smoke Baby AWESOME SONG
Marilyn Manson Angel with scabbed wings, I dont like the drugs but the drugs like me
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is an interesting pick.
I've got very little musical boundaries when it comes to my taste.
Remember Roxette... they've got a few kewl tracks.
I love listening to String Tributes of rock... Tool, Stairway to heaven is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
I dont discriminate, if I like it .... I like it.
As soon as I think of more, I'll add to this. If anyone is curious about anything, I will give more specific songs that you might like...
