Hello gorgeous people....
I'm Vampire Lily.....
I'm a redheaded, green eyed, Celt witch with a nasty boot fetish and a fucked up sense of humor. I dress like a fusion of the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood & Queen Boudicca. My home looks like Lord Byron's place after a particularly nasty opium trip. I'm a writer, a poet, a romantic and sometimes a big pain in the ass. I love belly dancing, designing my own clothes, cursing in public places and i am a proud advocate of creative punctuation. I tend to over-analyze everything because i find that the true experience is always beneath the layers. I can be pretty outspoken but i'm a cool person.... i dig getting to know people.
"Knock yourself out, but please remember there is a fine line between being punk rock and being a fucking dick." As soon as i read this is the FAQ.... i knew this would be a worthy outlet for self-expression.
This is more than you'll ever need to know about me and probably much more than you actually give a shit about.
Oh, and remember... expressing yourself through art, music, writing etc- that's immortality. That's a piece of your history that will carry on long after you're gone. Your history is worthy of immortality.

i love the Pre-Raphaelites! what type of 'romantic' are you? like in terms of the Romantic Period or just romantic with the lower-case r? i ask because i always lump the Pre-Raphaelites and later Romantic period artists together. but that's just me.

As much as i value the brotherhood on a whole.....i actually consider myself a Waterhouse romantic.... even though his aestetic was that of the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood, he wasn't actually considered kin to that group of artists. He was also a lover of redheads and of witches.....using alot of occult (a word i'm not fond of but it fits) imagery into his work. I find that Waterhouse also held women in a higher regard.......not just as objects of beauty but of creatures with power and intuition. In his eyes, woman became goddess. This is why i've come to value his eye and instinct towards beauty.
Thank you so much veryone for the warm welcome.......i sense an addiction coming on!

Re: Hello gorgeous people....
I have a thing for redheads, Lily, I apologize in advance. My first was a redhead, and my artist's eye dug the hell out of the colour of her...
shit. I'm sorry, can I start again?
Welcome!

Miranda is amazing! I think my favourite part about that particular work is the elegance of her hand as it strokes the hair back from her face..... it lends me the idea of stability while all this chaos is going on around her. They actually discovered another earlier version of the character Miranda a few years back in '06 that came from a private collection in Scotland. She's very sedate compared to the later version tho'....in Grecian gown and blonde, sitting beside a very still ocean..
I think my favourites are La Belle Dame Sans Merci ...(the way she's drawing the knight down to her with her hair is stunning) and The Magic Circle. I've always wondered why he had her walking counter clockwise.......was she trying to un-do something.....or was HE?

Re: Hello gorgeous people....
She'd be the exception....if thats the case, she's got a very warm and friendly personality. She's also personable and poetic.
Those are all winning characteristics in my opinion.
