I wanted to be a rock star, I've now worked in the music biz for 20 years.
I used to work as a busboy in the restaurant at the resort where "Dirty Dancing" was filmed. People always asked me "Which one is Baby's cabin?" Since I had never seen the movie I'd just point out the window to the nearest one and say "Uhhhh...I dunno....That one." When my girlfriend found out I had never seen Dirty Dancing I was immediately dragged to the video store, then forced to watch it (never admit to a girl who was alive in the 80's that you've never seen Dirty Dancing"). As it happens I was directing people to the right cabin...how nice for them. One thing about the movie that disappointed me was the scene where Patrick Swayze was bitching about all the rich ladies trteating him like a piece of meat and pushing their room keys into his hand. That shit NEVER happened to me!
Anyway if you want a set of "Dirty Dancing" salt and pepper shakers they still sell them in the gift shop there. Very bizarre.
When I was very young, I wanted to grow up to be Darth Vader.
When I was older, I wanted to be a Spy/CIA agent.
I think my current job is cool for now, until I can rule the empire...
Haha!
As a boy, I wanted to be one of those black porn star with gigantic penis. I'd do thing such as draw on myself with black marker. Just kidding! Just kidding!
Actually I used to want to be in army Ranger or Delta Force, but once I found out I cannot get into the military, I changed my focus to Archaeologist.
Now I want to be a photographer. I'm just a college student and kickboxer and mixed martial arts fighter for now. I try to do at least one new set of photography every week if possible. I often try to find new model as well. So I keep myself busy with all school, training for fight, and photography.
What I really wanted to be, like when I was 4, or 5 was a light night radio DJ.
My parents gave me a clock radio to play with in my room at about that age, and I would stay up listening to the radio all night. New Wave, what little Punk they'd play, and later hard rock. This is back when DJ's actually played records, and chose their own play lists, or alot of their own play lists.
Of course we don't have that any more. It's all programmed into data bases, the same fuckin' songs over, and over, and over.
Eventually I did community radio in a college town as a late night DJ, and loved it, but I didn't get paid a dime... There are a few podcasts that I like, but it's not the same as live local radio. Dammit. That's what I wanted to be.
I wanted to design Album sleeves and see my work in print --- I've done both, so what shall I do now?
I have always wanted to be a model or a chef in a fancy restaurant, I was quite a handsome child, my mom took me to several castings and I was even featured on several breakfast cereal boxes but as I've grown I've found it harder to get modelling jobs as my charming boyish chubby face has become more mature looking.
From the list of childhood obsessions- famous burlesque performer a la Josephine Baker (complete with giant house and loads of adopted kids), forensic anthropologist, costumer, fashion designer, band leader, photographer, writer, tap dancer.
Some of those I let go of, others I'm still working on.
I wanted to be drug dealer before i saw and was witnessed to my friend father house get raided by the cops, swat, army, navy, they all were there a big shoot out happened after that i kinda lost my urge for it, so i don't know i am nothing I know how to do a lot of things, work on engines, boats, guns, computers, code, write even know how program a vcr from the blinking time; but nothing really interest me I guess I am just a slacker did some retail work too it was so so...
It depends on what year you were to ask me, I wanted to be a ballerina, dancer, gymnast, figure skater, singer, model, fashion deisgner, vet, writer, artist and probably loads more I forgot about.
I never took ballet, I still would like to, just for the exercise and to get some flexibilty out of it. I was in gymnastics for a short while when I was younger, never been out on an ice rink, I love to sign, but fail at it. I would model for friends if they asked me. I do however have a TON of clothing designs from over the many, many years, that I have yet to make anything out of, mostly cause I suck at making patterns. I would make a horrible vet because I cry a lot when I see animals that have been harmed. I wrote a ton fo stuff throughout high school, I believe a couple poems were published, but writing comes and goes with me, I have to be in the right state of mind for it. I love art and took it through junior high and high school, I just never took it any further that that.
My job now has very little to do with any of the dreams I had when I was younger.
I would love to hear it as well! :)Quote:

I also wanted to be a pro wrestler, but then when I started wrestling and playing football I would lift weights and would only add mass, never definition and lost desire because I didn't have "the look". That and I'm only 5'11 and at my biggest weighed 210 pounds, before I did the whole drinking and smoking excessively and working all the time and went up to 230 but was flabbier than ever.
i wanted to be so many things when i was a kid, i can't remember them.
right now, i want to be a rockstar when i grow up. o3o i'm not very good at it yet. i think i should just post ads saying i like to scream and need a band to do it with. might suck, but it'd be better than sitting here thinking about it...
What do you give a guy who can't play 6 strings? 4 strings.
What do you give him if he can't handle 4 strings? 2 sticks.
If he can't handle 2 sticks? A mic.
He if can't handle that? Give him a sex change and make him a groupie!

Nah go with metal! It's easy, just follow the numbers.
