Plenty of fairly cheap land, if you want to legally live somewhere.
Plop down a trailer, or tent, and have at it!
There is also the option my dad is doing, which is to buy an RV,
and just go camping constantly. No real responsibilities, no property taxes, etc.
Just find enough money for food and gas if you want to travel to a different location.
Re: What do you think of cyberpanhandling or cyber-begging?
it always amazes me how cheap land can be in the states
Re: What do you think of cyberpanhandling or cyber-begging?
I am a bit envious about land prices over there, fair enough. I don't agree with the purchasing of space, but at those prices it'd be worth it to have a bit of room where you get left alone. Even (or sometimes especially) in the middle of nowhere.
I'm also seriously considering the mobile home option, although preferably with a boat.
Re: What do you think of cyberpanhandling or cyber-begging?
Tow the boat behind the motor home!
And like I was saying, you can camp in some places like national forests legally.
It's public land, not private property.
And there are some portions of the wilderness that are so remote,
that no one ever really goes there. That's where a lot of people
grow pot... Mendocino county, etc.
The main problem is when you actually build a house.
In that case, you really do need to own the land you build on.
But if you want to just camp, and be on your own, and be apart
from society, that's not hard to do. Well, it's hard living, but not
hard to find totally isolated forests...

you can't purchase space, it's just space......what your buying is the legal right to tell anyone you want to fuck off.......
I tried the boat thing......it's alright, but I think now I'd rather just build a house on a big raft and just have a little boat to pull it somewhere else when things get crowded, mobile home's too much of an expense, so's a boat......so's a house

Right.
When I buy a cookie, that takes effect a lot like buying the legal right to tell everybody else to keep their hands off' it. So how is that not the same thing?
Re: What do you think of cyberpanhandling or cyber-begging?
look around you.......how much empty space is around you?, how many cookies are around you.......there's a vast abundance of space in this universe, cookies are precious
