why am I not suprised, oh yeah, I participated in such events which is relatively normal for people down... I'm not hungarian but they indeed are very similar to yugo's when it's about drinking....

on their forums you may rather come acros coment like "they wanted to move it away while it was still rum in it?!?!" :)

It's happened before. A british admiral died (I think it was Trafalgar) so they stuck him in a barrel of rum during the rest of the voyage. When they got back to England, the barrel was empty except for the body.

You need to use volume and not density for these calculations unless you are worried about issues like buoyant force. You could put a lead box or a wooden box in there, and they'd displace the same amount of rum.

Also, who says that the barrel was full when the workers started in on it. All it says is that they "drank their way to the bottom" of it; it may have been close to the bottom already.

It's likely they initially thought there was a lot more rum in the barrel, because of the weight of the body.
