yikes.
I don't mean to be a persistent bore. But, there are no health reasons to do it, unless it the boy had a really abnormally large foreskin. :eeek:Quote:

perhaps it is only b/c of what i was taught from porn and such but i am circumsized and am totally happy that i was... i like the way it looks
and i very recently came across a news report that said a study blah blah blah found that circumsizion DOES NOT reduce sensitivity in any measurable amount
Consider a "dorsal slit", it's just an incision up the bottom side of the skin, makes it somewhat "convertable".
Let me start by sending you to cirp(dot)org [new member and not being able to post URLs]
Being an intact male has never been a problem and in fact have enjoyed the benefits of being as such, I've gotten much more 'action' than my surgically altered counterparts, sometimes at the expense of being an 'oddity' but never had a complaint.
After working for a foreskin restoration clinic, you wouldn't believe the number of American males who are disfigured and grow up thinking that 'its' normal. Over 100 men a month wish to have their foreskin back, either surgically or through natural stretching methods.
For doctors it's a cash cow... $75 to $400 a snip, roughly an extra $200 - $250 a year in doctors expenses nationally for simply getting rid of that 'nasty' little piece of skin... An estimated 240 feet of microscopic nerves, including branches of the dorsal nerve.
I had a roommate who at the age of 25 had laser circumcision performed, he regrets it now but not as a factor of pain because in fact adult circumcision is 'better' than as an infant because of the lessened risk of infection as well as the pain management with drugs available. He put himself into the same state as many of the clients I saw on a daily basis, wanting something back that he had 'lost' (not to mention almost 2 inches in erect length once healed), only difference was that HE made the choice for himself.
All in all, it is a difficult decision and one that shouldn't be made blindly with misinformation, you have before you the resources... start typing and reading up. I would have to say as my personal choice, I would not make that choice for my son but inform him as to what he can do if he so chooses to.
Okies, i'm not religious in any way shape or form, and even if i was extreamly jewish or anything i wouldn't MUTILATE my child!!!
(not that i have a child,)
If he was to grow up and become a Jew of his own free will and WANT it, then fine, i'd have no problems with that.
As far as hygene goes, i've never had any complaints.
If there was a medical reason why it would be NEEDED, fine, i'd have no problems with that either.
If it ain't broke, dont fix it!
You've brought a perfect little life into the world, ten finger and ten toes...
and you're already thinking about genital mutilation???
If my parents had done that to me i dont know how i'd have reacted when i found out about it.
Yep, I reckon the cash factor's not to be sniffed at. It's presumably a fairly simple procedure, so probably represents a big old cash cow to certain members of the medical profession. As an analogy, I talked to a professor of dentistry once and asked him if dentists ever performed unnecessary work just for the money. He said they didn't, then proceeded to give me a dozen different examples of just that.
http://www.cirp.org/library/procedure/plastibell/ It shows the procedure done.
It's like 99% in finland who are uncircumcised and I am too. Never have had any problems with hygiene or nothing. These hygiene things are made-up afterwards. It's just a religious tradition and I agree that you shouldn't fix something that isn't broken. I think it's mutilation should be forbidden. If men wants to do it when he is grown up he can do it, but let him decide. Sorry I just can't understand it and to me it seems like taking away your own will and freedom of believe. I hope didn't make anyone pissed, just think it's old stupid religious tradition which should have been stopped long time ago.
Heh and my ex-gf liked to play with it very often when it was um.. sleeping after work.
Thank you for your suprisingly American attitude (you know, the freedom thing) and sharing your personal experience and space. :thumb:Quote:

I assume that was sarcasm... The idea that America has a monopoly on freedom is the real surprisingly American attitude.Quote:

I am not offended at all by the uncircumcised c*ck, I have heard from mayn such men that they are insanely sensitive because of the foreskin being left on and have a heightened sexual experience. I do also believe they have to try harder to keep their penis clean, as it can and will get stiiiiinky (and no one likes a stinky wiener!!!) I had an ex-BF who had some complications with his foreskin however, and it tore from sex and bled so profusely that the blood soaked all the way through the bottom side of the mattress........ he said he was super scared but when he got to the doctor/ hospital it ended up that that region just happens to bleed a lot more :-)
I'm not cut and I like it this way. And being a homosexual, I like others uncut too, ...from experience it's much sensitive to the touch, lick, suckling of the head :P
As for Dr.s and others saying it's more sanitary, teach your child how to properly wash himself and he shouldn't have any problems.
And just like you wouldn't chop your babies finger off (amputee fetish), you don't want to remove part of your babies dick. Let him decide that when he's older if he wants that himself.
I have a friend who wanted to get circumcized and he did so by choice at age 15. Good for him ya' know...

I kinda went off on tangent..but I hope I got through...
That happened to me 3 years ago on 4th of July, I was dry humping and my foreskin got cut (frenum) and I was bleeding for a loooooong time (though I was drunk) and it that area/scar was very sensitive to the touch for about 6 months

Don't do it. It is a body modification and as such shouldn't be done without full consent, and seeing how a baby can't give consent....
Also, health reason? Its called and I quote the father of my nephew "Wash yo dick!!!"
ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch OUCH Thistle!!!
I would say to do some research first. The circumcision rate in the us is about 50/50 now. My oldest son is not circumcised because his father wasn't. When me and my husband had my middle son, we chose to get him done because my husband is (I was against it, but let him make the decision, since he's a guy). We felt so horrible about it that our 4 month old is not circumcised. My oldest son has had no problems at all, and neither has the baby. I don't think it's such a big deal now as it used to be. The American Pediatric Society basically is neutral on the subject. If you decide to get it done, just make sure they use some kind of anesthesia.
I would circumcise my kid.
If God wanted a kid circumsized, he would have done it.
wait, he does? fuck. I'm confused now.
I was born circumcised......., when your older your too busy thinking about useing it, not wanting to cut the end off.........makes me wonder, you hear about guys getting circumcised when they're older but I've never heard of anyone wanting an operation to put a forskin back on.......of course there's gotta be someone out there with nothing better to do
isn't there anything more important than what a guys cock looks like? seems like kind of a non-issue to me.
I lean towards the don't do it because it is unneeded. That being said, two important points.
If you don't circumcise him you will need to teach him to care for his penis. It seems obvious but a lot of problems I hear about from the uncut seem to come prom the fact that no one told them how to cart for the bonus bits on account of dad being cut. If he goes uncut find out how to keep him healthy and clean and teach him.
If you do circumcise the kid, it won't end his life. It may be unneeded, but it is not like you are cutting off his eyelids. The biggest thing to worry about is that, as an adult, he might join one of those regrow your foreskin cults. Look them up sometime and show your wife if you want some uncut ammo.
Hope that helps.
There are ways that the float around the body modification community to re-grow the foreskin, but I don't know how this would be done. Probably a lot of cutting and stretching.
But again I want to re-iterate that there is no arguing that this is a body modification, and since it is illegal to tattoo, pierce, scar or implant something into someone with our their consent, that this shouldn't be done with out the consent of the person it is being done to.
I'm Jewish and I disagree with it even though all my brothers/family have been
I'd say absolutely no way in hell should one mutilate a child for no valid reason.
I didn't get Kaden circumcised ..I kinda think its stupid, I mean you teach a kid to wash and clean every other part of their body, whats wrong with teaching them how to clean their dicks...really.
snip that shit. no girl wants to fuck a bagel dog
Isn't that for him to make up his mind about later?
And VB, for the record, there's many girls who are like "I don't want no cut meat."
actually, the OP asked for opinions. sorry you didn't like mine. I don't know many girls who would go near an uncut member. they get torn and bleed too easily, and they carry infections and bacteria more easily than the snipped ones.... even if you wash it. honestly, if I was a guy, I'd rather my parents circumscised me at birth so I'd never remeber it, than decide I wanted it done as an adult when it hurts like a bitch, and would require taking time out my everyday life to take care of it after surgury. I'd be pissed if I was a guy and my mom didn't circumscise me.Quote:

Someone walks up to you and says, "I hate your nose, we're going to cut it off. I'm not asking you, I am just letting you know we're doing it."
What would you say? How would you feel? Your are opting to cut off a piece a your child without their knowledge or consent when there are no benefits other than astethics and MAYBE hygiene if you aren't willing to ensure your kids wash properly.
I have 2 boys 5 and 7, niether are circumcised, niether have EVER had an infection, a problem, or complication from being as the powers that be made them. Piercings and unnessicary surgery/procedures on kids bothers me personally. You are permanantly altering another human being without their permission. It may be your kid, but it is a seperate person. Life threatening or illness changes that but someone ELSE deciding to cut off the tip of YOUR penis for their vanitys sake.. it's not anything you would allow someone to do to you.

Voltaire, I was merely asking you to elaborate on your opinion. Is all.

It's never used for infant circumcision.Quote:

We ended up deciding to circumcise our child, mostly because of doctors telling us about the lower risk of STD transfer and from the opinions of friends and family that are uncircumcised recommending that we get him cut.
to all the women who say that men should be circumsized, would you object to women (in the western world, using western medical techniques) having circumsicision performed on them at birth?
I'm not neccesarily saying that women should, or that men should not...I merely find it very strange and a little bit hypocritical that people (women) who believe "a woman's body is her own" don't feel that men deserve that right and consideration as well.
