What TV are you watching at the moment?
What TV are you watching at the moment?
I am still kind of a newbie to the whole watching television thing which TiVo (and growing misanthropy) has facilitated, but here is my current playlist just for shows which are currently playing, not counting stuff which is not currently playing episodes I have not seen or movies and other one time stuff.
True Blood
Mad Men
Entourage
Dexter
Simpsons
Heroes
Life and Times of Tim
Primeval
SNL
Ace of Cakes
CSI (although that may go soon)
South Park keeps teetering on the edge of falling out of the list, but then they will do a new episode where they've got their mojo on.
Family Guy fell out of my to-watch list quite some time ago, when they went from hilarious to tedious.
Just watched the beginning of Six Feet Under on On Demand.

How is Dirty Sexy Money and what is it about? It had some nice billboards in LA, although apparently not nice enough to make me remember to try it out or to totally get what the topic is.

I watched a couple episodes of that earlier in the year. Hadn't seen a new one in a while. One was on the Mexican mafia and one was on early Chicago I think.

Re: What TV are you watching at the moment?
Muse and I gave up owning a television a number of years
ago, solely relying on the internet for entertainment value
through direct download, streaming content and torrents,
just can't beat the commercial-free high def content for
the price of net access.
But what's in our playlist currently is:
Dexter (need I say more, season 3 is killer.. pun intended)
The Shield (Vic is the cop I would have been)
City Homicide (Aussie police drama)
Jurassic Fight Club (battle dinosaurs are kick ass)
Monster Quest (dipshits looking for man killing beasts)
Coming of Age (funny UK show about coming of age)
Two and a Half Men
How I Met Your Mother (the only two CBS shows we like, so far)
The Mentalist (only two episodes, but enjoyable so far)
Psych (a friend of mine turned us onto it and its pretty funny)
The Office (still has sharp witted writing, hopefully it'll stay that way)
Ugly Betty (always entertaining)
Then the usual slew of Fox Sunday night fare...
Simpsons
Family Guy
American Dad
King of the Hill
Comedy Central shows...
South Park
Lewis Black's Root of All Evil
The Sarah Silverman Program
The Gong Show with Dave.Attell
and other assorted shows...
ANTM
Project Runway
Make Me A Supermodel (US and AU versions)
Dirty Jobs
the various flavours of Law and Order
The Ultimate Fighter and anything UFC/WEC related
Penn and Teller's Bullshit!
Nip/Tuck
My Life on the D List
Scare Tactics
Top Chef
anything with Gordon Ramsay (Hell's Kitchen - US & UK,
Kitchen Nightmare's - US and The F-Word - UK)
Add in a fuckton of documentaries from History Channel,
Discovery Channels (Science and Travel), BBC, ITV and
other foreign offerings.
All in all, about a terabyte of programs on a local drive
with about 500 DVDs burnt for archival purposes. Even
with the lengthy list, we still really don't spend that much
time watching 'TV'... we catch what we can when we can
and burn off full seasons to watch later.
You don't even want to know about movies... :1orglaugh
Let's just say about 3300 theatrical releases and
about 7000 adult titles... not counting what has been
burnt to DVD already.
-
Re: What TV are you watching at the moment?
gotta say the discovery channel cause everything else is just lacking in originality,ya see the story arcs a mile away,or i'm
just getting old.
-
Re: What TV are you watching at the moment?

Reaper (Although the new season doesn't start until January) ) :-- I love this show but nobody watches it so it'll probably get cancelled.
Lost (New season in January)
30 Rock (Hilarious)
South Park
Everybody Hates Chris
Scare Tactics
As far as just flipping the remote at anytime...I like watching alot of the criminal shit on Discovery and stuff like "The World's Wildest Videos" on the Tru channel.

Re: What TV are you watching at the moment?
Wow, I haven't had cable in years. Like Jonny said, why the hell would I pay close to $100/mo. to watch re-runs of Friends on every channel at every hour of the day?
I do miss alot of the good shows though like My Name Is Earl and The Daily Show and Fashion Television of course.
-
Re: What TV are you watching at the moment?
The Wire (HBO via Netflix... working my way through the 6 seasons)

Gangland (History Channel via Netflix) worked anti-gang task force via government for a while and its a pretty good show. season 2 has some 81 and Mongol stuff in it

No, I never saw it. I can't afford HBO. I can only afford the H. I'll check it out though. I'm sure I can get copies of the show somewhere. Thanks.

Re: What TV are you watching at the moment?
the stupid election..i'm not into politics but Eric came home with beer and flipped the chanel to it. I'm only into it because John McCain is trying to make himself seem like a victim but only to look like a cry baby. It's pretty fucken entertaining-- he's how old yet acting like the total opposite. Very fucken entertianing..and I hate politics. ::bring a book::

What TV are you watching at the moment?
Sci Fi Channel
http://www.scifi.com/
- caught up on Battlestar Galactica for the frack of it
- getting into Sanctuary as both Stargate series go into movie productions only
- getting a kick out of Destination Truth and Ghost Hunters
- waiting for Doctor Who to return (I need my David Tennant / Catherine Tate fix)
- missing Lexx, Farscape, and Xena
Please keep in mind this is all stored on dv-r for me to watch later (when I have free time) but I have to admit I can easily become an addict to the Boomerang Channel (because they have all the saturday morning classics from my generation which puts the rest of you lot to shame - grin).

Heroes really got bad, I think. Everybody now seems to have superpowers and somehow they just seem to be obtaining more as I speak. I soooo love Season 1. I really wish they'd go back to a simple storyline like that instead of jumping all over the fuckin' place. Every good guy is now a bad guy. Every bad guy is now good.....Seems to me after the 1st season they didn't know which area to move next so instead they're just moving all over the fuckin' place.

I think I'll buy the series. I do love Reaper so if you think Dead Like Me is better I'll spring for it. Why not? It seems like every dollar spent is now a plus for the economy:1orglaugh

Re: What TV are you watching at the moment?
Well, Ajax Knucklebones, you'll be pleased to know that actress Katee Sackhoff will guest star on Nip/Tuck as Dr. Theodora 'Teddy' Lowe (and yes I am going to miss all of her fracking good scenes, but I finally got my FRACK black t-shirt and mug from the SciFi online shop - grin) and then she will go to work in a new "untitled" Dick Wolf Production as an LAPD Detective who is punished for clashes with authority and sent to work on John and Jane Doe cases (developed back in 2006, Sackhoff’s casting moves the show to a guaranteed pilot).
For me, I'd fancy pushing Dr. Gaius Baltar (James Callis) out of the way so that I can spend time with both Number Six (Tricia Helfer) and D'Anna Biers a.k.a. Number Three (Lucy Lawless) but that would involve Cylon Sex (a topic which could turn into a thread all its own - grin).

p.s.
Amanda Tapping is looking good on SANCTUARY (which is also a unique t.v. series for having sets that are practically all CGI) but I'll stop there before this turns into "who would be in your own personal harem" (lol) !

Re: What TV are you watching at the moment?
I lost interest in HEROES (maybe some shows work better with a definite begin date / end date)
Adding Shirley Manson to the cast of TERMINATOR: SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES was nice (will it be enough to compensate for the poor scripts?)
I'm just getting into SONS OF ANARCHY (Ron Pearlman and Katey Segal are awsome in this series)
