so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
they had a shitload of twilite parties out here last night for the dvd release.
it's really no surprise being as the writer is from here that there's a huge fan base for it out here
plus for some odd reason, people love a good line standing out here.
you should have seen the mob at the mall when the last harry potter book came out.
anyways, were there lines and parties for it out where you are? did you join in?

I could say something in a vampiric prepubescent jokey smurf manner, but instead here's a picture of a jewish siamese cat getting his butt sniffed by a schnauzer cause it's funnier.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
I almost feel like I should watch it, now that it is out on DVD, so I can have an educated opinion.
-
Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
I tried to watch it.... couple times actually, BUT that first line just does it for me. Automatically, you feel this kind of aversion and you know you're gonna spend 2 hours regretting you even started watching it.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
seeing first hand the majority of it's fan basis.....i have decided not to.
i dont normally like vampire romance stuff anyway. It's kinda lame thinking that something living for hundreds of years as a blood drinking immortal with super strength speed and senses would possibly even give it's natural food source a minute of it's time let alone a romantic relationship.
it's like somebody romancing a hamburger.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
"oh pie i love you. but we can never be together."
"but mr. fatguy, I want to be one of you."
'what a dude? no way! you're a delicious pie!"
"no no i mean a person, i wanna be a person."
"oh silly pie, i will eat you now but dont worry, i will never forget-oh hello, apple!"
insert vampire and person and that's about the equivalent.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
I have come to accept that any movie with a vampire, no matter how bad, winds up on netflix, it will find it's way into my queue eventually. But a line? For something they will keep making?
I just never got that. It is not like they will sell out.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
people out here are apenuts for standing in line. they're like lemmings that way lol.
playstation 3 comes out = people standing in line,
chick fila opens a new store = better get the sleeping tents.
harry potter's last book comes out = fat ugly wizards as far as the eye can see.
shit, i used to work at the mall where they did the biggest loser tryouts and out store was right by where they would stand in line for that.
needless to say it was a fat sweaty farty screaming - And oh my godess do they love to scream- mess.

People have animals as pets all the time and I think frequently love them.
-
Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
yes but do they eat the pets?
-
Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
I dunno i think there's a difference between being a pet and being an equal.
they show "pets" in vampire movies all the time, well atleast the ones where they're not all super sleek and emo they do
and the pets are basically people they feed on occassionally and promise to turn but never do.
humans are basically a vampires main source of food so if they turn too many people they run out of food so there's that plus it just seems weird to me that they'd do anything aside from turn one into a pet for their own purposes or just leave em to die after feeding off of them.
wow is it just me or is this topic starting to feel like it should be in the vampires thread? lol

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
Can I have pancake as a pet?
-
Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
sure but the minute it wants to be a person instead of a pancake, it's your problem. lol
-
Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?

No. My point is that dogs are completely edible and healthy food, but we don't eat them, at least in the US, because we would prefer to love them. Same thing. Many people also have romantic relationships with people who are not precisely their equals in every single area, but they can still love each other. That is not an ideal relationship to me, but it is certainly common enough.

Can someone explain to me why I am supposed to hate Twilight? I mean, other than the fact that teenage girls like it?

You don't have to hate it. I mean, I like Marilyn Manson and My Chemical Romance, and teenagers long ago besmurged them both. Its just the sparkles, and the poor writing make it seem little better than a Fan-Fiction that has taken on Popular Culture proportions.
It sucks, but not even enough to be a wonderfully terrible Vampy flick. Sad! Very sad.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
to answer the question: fuck no.
and now I hate myself for having even devoted this much time and effort to the subject.

KRISTEN STEWART
Me? Oh, no. I'm just a hollow placeholder for all of the teenage girls in the audience to project their personalities onto. I have none of my own whatsoever.

Just hear that first line. It screams emo.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
What's the first line?
I understand the whole thing is Mormon propaganda for abstinence.

I don't think it's hating Twilight itself so much as not liking the movie. I know alot of people who read the books and loved them, but REALLY hate the movie. I guess it all goes back to the same thing as the "Watchmen" discussion.

Not 100% on this. I got rid of the movie without watching it.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
I read the first 3 books, i don't think I'll watch the movie, I think movies in general ruin books most of the time. I do agree with you guys tho it's not normal to fall in love with what essentially is your food.

Re: so...did anyone stand inline for the twilite dvd?
why do the vampires in twilight always seem to be shown in DAYLIGHT? it just really bothers me.
i like vampires, i like vampire fiction. not really a fan of vampire romances though. im not saying that vampires are unromantic and that that has no place in the genre. just that i dont like it when that is the prime focus. i know that romances are the big thing right now in vampire lit; but it just bores me.

So is your objection that abstinence for teens is bad?

they also wore full biker gear including uv protected lensed helmets too. sunblock gets expensive when you have to bathe in it.
and I Apologise ms.G if you thought i was telling you why you shouldnt like it, sooooooooo not my intentions.
I was stating why i didnt like it.
I personally dont like the whole romantic vampire genre altogether but i think i've got more of a distaste for twilight having to be right in the author's backyard.
it's not that i completely loathe the idea of sexy vampires though, i mean, i am a fan of the school bites comic that broadsword puts out and that's pretty much a vampire version of harry potter, vampire school and eveyrthing.
If you wanna see it, go for it,:thumb:
