I was goth for a week! (pic)

I promised my mom I'd dye my pink hair for my bro's wedding. So, for a week, I had temp black hair.

I felt so Blue Blood!

Now, since the black didn't entirely leave, my hair is kinda a funky purple.

It was wierd...I think people smile at me more with the pink hair. I'm not brooding enough to pull off black. (but the hair helped)

My hair has been through various incarnations... mostly in color. I would say that I molded my hair to what I was feeling at the time (usually a combo of bored & punky, or bored & gothy, or bored & crazy, etc.), and then people would act based on my appearance.

But I'd smile at you regardless of your hair color. :rryumy:

My mother has always taught me that if I was bored, go look for something to do.

So that's why when I dye my hair, I'm usually a combination of bored (i.e. I wanna do something, anything) and what I'm feeling (depressed, crazy, colorful, exciting, etc.). It's the something else that comes out through creative hair play, but exciting hair for me always seem to come out when I'm bored.

Well, right now I have "boring" hair. It's thick, black, hangs to my waist, but a guy could wrap it twice around his wrist for a good grip.

Kinda odd seeing you in all black since I'm use to the Pink colored Halcyon we all know and love. I'm amazed how diffrent you look...at least to my eyes. It's almost like another person.

In black you look grand and good but in Pink you pack a much more lively and visual punch...

Yeah, before you do anything drastic to that hair, I have some ideas to keep you from being bored. ;)

But I know what you mean. I often shave/clip my body hair when I am bored. (arms, legs, pubes)

btw, I used to play with my hair a bunch when it was long. braids, etc.

I can see how you'd feel that way...I had long hair (not as long as yours) and was not all that comfortable with it and myself really till I started to keep it really short.

The current length you have it now really gives you that extra pop in terms of personality in an image. I really enjoy that cause you don't see it a lot. I don't see a lot of fun people in pictures anymore...most are either brooding or trying to hard to be something they just can't be...

You have any other ideas currently cooking about your next hair experiments?

The mirror thing happened to me when i first cut my hair with the clipper No.1... but now i know the other "average" hair look wasn't me... i love my mini mohawk

Either way you look damn good... even though at the moment I have just resently went with Black No. 1 (job interviews and such), it's not exactly what I would go with... there is a container of Manic Panic Purple sitting on the counter... calling me... and if before the end of next month if nothing is going, my hair is changing for Halloween.

Of course if I get my dream job at the porn store, it won't matter which color my hair is... or if I even have any... at this point, I'd be the 'normal' one there.

When my hair was cobalt blue little old ladies would stop me and ask where I got it done... nothing like a 6 foot punk talking hair with someone's grandma in the groccery store. But with it dyed black, they tend to clutch their purses a little tighter and avoid me at all costs, that I don't like... but as far as the 'normal' folks, that's fine... they tend to leave me the fuck alone.

That's me, also. I like my hair black best, despite all other colors. Black's my favorite anyway. I need to re-dye it though, because my natural is about 6 inches showing now.

I was brought up in California for a largeish slice of my childhood, and I never could get used to American directness. I still have a powerful memory of going to a public swimming pool and being bemused by a diving club using the board. When any of them dived, regardless of how graceful or shitty the attempt, the other members would whoop, holler and shout encouragement as if the diver had just won an Olympic gold.

I know a lot of people find it irritating, but I reckon there's something to be said for English understatement, reserve and reticence. It's a dying tradition over here which I think's a shame, though I can see the advantages of not being backward in coming forward.

The black hair is sexier, I think, but the pink hair is pretty cool. It makes a statement and helps people see you in the dark.

you definatley pull off the black quite nicely but the pink is more unique.

and to answer your question: yeah my goatee totally changes how i act...with it i am my normal fun loving self but clean shaven i am very shy and introverted lacking my usual confidence.
but when i had a full bleached blond mohawk and 6 inch braided goatee i noticed that people reacted to me and since i was usually polite and said hi to everyone who i made eyecontact with i usually got a very positive response. in otherwords people weren't turned off by my "freaky" appearence but reacted more to it... now that i look fairly normal if for some reason i say hi to someone in passing...they put there head down and keep walking like i am some serial killler. which is pretty much opposite of what i would expect.

I think I'd be afraid of having a goatee ... females just shouldn't have 'em.

Currently I have Bright Bright Vivid red hair and goatee, and I work at a convenience store in northern maine, and people act very different to you. Up here people automatically treat you like a street punk or criminal. so I am starting to were my bonnet more often because of this.

I keep mine chocolate brown nowadays. Perhaps someday I'll dye it something-or-another, but brown makes my eyes look brighter and my face more clear. :)

hair does change peoples reactions! right now my hair is really boring and natural, i was in the midsts of job hunting so i needed to look normal so the interviewers would react well of me! im going to be keyboarding for a band in a few weeks at a show so im going to dye my hair super crazy!

Pink hair is good stuff. It suits you. I always have pink streaks in my hair except when I have to look relatively normal for some shoot or something. Right now I have ass length human extensions. Most of it matches my red with some varying shades and there is a layer of black underneath, and I have bring pink streaks. I believe the color is called "atomic pink" and I discovered it glows under black lights. heh
