Republicans are the stupidest people in the world

I was watching some guy on TV who was some representitive for the Republican party and they were talking about raising minimum wage, an issue that has been discussed here before. here's what this fucking dumbass said:

"If we pay poor people more money, then they won't work... there are people that want to raise minimun wage and make this a socialist country [laughs] where people make more money, take more vacations- and more unemployment."

I'm not even going to try to comprehend that first statement because there is just no logical rationality behind it what-so-ever. It makes zero fuckin sense.
ok, secondly, yes, there are people that want to raise minimum wage, no shit, that's what we are talking about... what I fail to understand is how the government regulating how much private businesses have to pay their employees ISN'T socialism, but the government deciding to increase that amount of payment is? someone please explain that to me.
and finally how is improving job stress level, and giving people more incentive to want to work going to lead to more unemployment?

If you're a Republican i'd like to hear your answers to these questions. Of course If I was a republican I wouldn't want anyone to know and I'd be ashamed that I associate myself with an organisation that not only allows dipshits like this to be a part of them, but actually let's them speak for and represent the other members of their party.

The minimum wage is being raised to keep up with inflation. If, say, 70 years from now, we still had the same minimum wage, while prices around us kept gradually increasing....what will that leave the common person with? Even now, a single parent can hardly keep up, even at a couple dollars above the minimum wage. And you know what? The fight for the increase is not a whole lot, either.
I completely agree with you. This man has foggy logic.

The actual economic problem that can be associated with raising the minimum wage: Companies will offer less jobs as the price of labor exceeds that of its output. Neither regulating or increasing the minimum wage is "socialism". As far as parties, I don't think either major party has any bragging rights. I just watched Senator Robert "KKK" Byrd lecture about his theory of white and black "ni**ers"

Americans already work more than Europeans, take less pay and less vacations..hell , In August in France...noone works...they take the whole month off...and they only work 4 days a week....yet, they still make good money....I guess America is like this...The Rich get Richer, the Poorer work their ass off for minimum wage (2 and 3 jobs) and die early deaths from working too much...

I'm not sure.. for a long while....I read books where they speak of it..and my best friend is married to a french man...he says August is like a ghost town in Paris..very minimal is open..he also says they work 4 -5 days a week and 6-8 hours...per day...(this is of course a generalization)

right now it is 35 hour work weeks in France...but the French gov wants to increase to 40. I do not know how long August has been a vacation month for them...but it must of been for a while now..

Besides...both sides are total idiots when it comes to money and taxes for the middle and below middle class. It just doesn't matter what they say since even if they agreed to give those in need more money they'd figure out a way to tax them so they never rise above their social class.

The congress is controlled and oporated by the rich...and they do no want any class below them anywhere near them. They do not want the lower class and minorities to have actual wealth...that would endanger their social and political standings...

They can say what they want...for good or bad...their actions speak louder and are already well known anyhow. Both sides are simply rich corrupt white guys who want to keep their pale white world the way it has been since their fathers father father landed on plymouth fucking rock.

are you trying to say that I'm a hypocrite using a broad generalisation to blanket people into a group? see that really only works if you AREN'T in a group. if you choose to be a part of a group and that group is fundamentally stupid even if your more or less aren't, then you are also entitled to the responsibility of the actions/opinions/ stupidity of your group by association.

I think it is not so much a strange habit of the rich to think that people choose poverty, but a paralyzing fear of poverty. They are so afraid of not having everything that they have that they are willing to sell out anything or anyone to hang on to what they have. I agree he is a spoiled rich kid with store bought ivy-league degrees. I also submit that his current office was purchased with a bit of help from Die-Bolt voting machines. His isgnorance does not bother me half as much as that of the average american that parrots all that republican rhetoric nonsense without stopping to think for even a half a second about the verity of their statements. Indeed, if they did stop to think about it, or listen to reason, their brains might explode from the strain of sudden use. You know though, nothing really comes as a huge surprise since the Patriot Act, no one can really know for sure how many rights we have lost until somebody stands up and takes them to the Supreme Court--many years before that can happen. A similar thing happened during the Reagan years--they declared War on Drugs and it wasn't long before the police were breaking into people's houses all over the country. A government that declars war on it's own citizens...very sad and bizarre. They tell a different story on public radio--there they talk all about how Bush and Cheney (especially) are hooked up with the heroin and opium trade in the asian triangle and this is why they are so against weed because it interferes with their own drug sales=wealth. I don't know if it's true or not, but it certainly is interesting.

Does it really matter? Those who hate em will preach it true anyhow, though I gotta admit it wouldn't be a great big shock...I've seen the U.S. pull the same shit in Mexico...White Guys Sellings Drugs...OK...anyone else sellings drungs Not Ok. Hell all the big families of america's past were built on some sort of illegal trade...why would it stop now?

I have no problem with that...cause really at the end of the day it's the users of the drugs that keep in all going and profitable. We all know drug use is not gonna end ever so why complain when people figure out a way to make a money off it.

I am a Libertarian. I believe people should be able to use any drug they wish. However, since I am, by definition, totally against any kind of Socialism, I am also strongly against the government being involved in the drug trade in any way whatsoever. Let the free market take it's course.
As for Bush, well... I hate him just as much, if not more, than I hate the Liberals, but if he can somehow manage to even partially privatize Social Security, he would earn buku brownie points in my book. It will never make up for the Patriot Act, but it's a start.

About the minimum wage... raising it is a quick fix, a band-aid for a gaping chest wound, and it actually makes things worse in the long run. It raises the price of goods for everyone so that your dollar becomes worth less. It is not nearly as destructive as runaway spending, but both are prime causes of hyper-inflation. Every time Congress spends money it doesn't have, forcing the FED to print it out of thin air, it becomes a backdoor tax, and you grow poorer.

the only thing is about conservatives...they're pretty much born that way. can't really hold it against them, but you can't do much about it either...somewhat of a conundrum methinks.

You are speaking of Libertinism, which was advocated by Marquis de Sade. Basically, might makes right. If you are strong enough to enslave someone, then do it. More accurately, de Sade was a Nihilist.
I like de Sade, and I believe that he was intellectually, and probably morally, correct. But it is not a practical philosophical base upon which to found any sort of society that I know of. Not that that's an indictment of him, really. Society kind of sucks, if you haven't noticed. So do politics and philosophy, for that matter.

I'd disagree with you on that... what you're suggesting is closer to anarchism/autonomy but it really doesn't matter does it? all these ist and isms are just bullshit that cripple any revolutionary ideals and give a target for our opposition, the point is that you got the right idea. now as far as you being opposed to socialism.. how can that be possible? you claim to support a "free market" but there is no such thing, in a capitalist society only the one's that control the capital have any power, and subsequently control the market- which is the wealthiest 3% of the population. the rest of us having no capital and no bargaining chip in the market are forced to offer our only other commiditty in exchange for some capital, our labour, and since we cannot live in a society without exchanging our labour and time to the capitalists (because nothing in this "free" market is free) we are essentially indentured servants. what you call free market capitalism was better known in old times as feudalism. the only way to have a truly free market would be to have a co-op exchange market -a barter system, or even better a gift-giving market. where all capital is divided up evenly in a socialist collective is the onyl way to have a progressive environement where people can truly be free to pursue whatever they want to- liberation- without having to worry about wage slavery and competition. as an old syaing goes: Minimum wage means all for me and none for you.

When I say 'free' market, I do not mean as in 'you get to eat for free'. Frankly, I could care less whether you or anyone else has food on their table. That is for you to figure out. I mean 'free' as in 'free from centralized planning'. You may feel like a serf, but unlike a serf, noone is holding a sword to your throat. You are free to come and go, trade your labor, as you please.

It is about the use of force, not about whether Joe has more stuff than me. Centralized state authority is what concerns me, not that fact that I'm poor (which I am).

I know that's not what a free market means but I think it's a misnomer and that it's ironic because it is in fact a very limiting and constricted system.

when people hear buzz words like Communism and Socialism they tend to think of them as some far off utopian ideal or else some evil cold war machine that threatens our way of life, but the fact is that these thins are very much a part of our daily economic system. The Government does own many businesses, and while they also allow for private ownership or business, they also control many aspects of those business from regulatuions to licenses, to goods that may come from the government to exchange in other systems that are also government regulated. and as far as socialism goes, well our tax dollars do got toward social welfare programs, and most of the goods that we manufacture are developed for public distribution ( although not free or equally)

It should be said that existing Socialist systems are in place, and they have some of the highest living standards in the world. Namely the Scandinavian countries.
