Terri Schiavo may well die on easter. The archetypal significance of this should scare the shit out of any and all secularist forces. They've created a martyr. I see no possibility of this ending with this woman's death. I can respect any rational viewpoint on matters of life and death, I only wonder if people realize how emboldened this woman's death will make the causes based on religious precepts. Not only will it not end with this woman's death, it will be a sounding call for a myriad of religious causes. Those who believe most passionately tend to win. Those who act out of principle will defeat arguments based on relativist arguments in matters of life and faith. Does anyone realize the behemoth that has been unleashed?

I was listening a comedy tape of David Cross and he had a sketch that made me think of this:

You saw that .gif somebody made of Schiavo on the strings of Freddy Got Fingered, and how much she really wanted that hot dog. Easter bunny, psha. Regardless though, there are a lot of creepy extremists picking around these days trying to find some sort of cause to latch onto that will enable them to go on a mini-Crusade of their own. As I hear it, this whole stupid Schiavo thing might cause a schism in the Republican party. And the latest is that Ralph Nader is crusading for Schiavo. If I cared, I would probably say "Oh my great goodness, the world is coming to pieces at the seams! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!" But I had a bowl of potato soup, and then ate the bowl because it was made of delicious sour-dough bread, so my complacency factor is pretty high right now.

i dont care what anyone says....everyone should be able to die in dignity...plastering illegal pics of her in a semi vegetative state is not the way i'd want to be remembered...let the woman have her peace and her dignity...just let her the fuck alone to go naturally..

I'm really not sure she ever gave any indication that she would have wanted to die. Schiavo never mentioned it until 7 years later after the malpractice suit. I will laugh if he ends up being prosecuted for a 15 year old murder after pulling the plug. The man's a scumbag, I can just sense it.

I dont know, but supposedly Lie Detectors work off of Brain Waves, so maybe they could ask her a question, in the form of a statement, so that if it is a lie, then they could assume the opposite, such as:

Personally, I'm glad they are pulling the plug on her. I don't know any person who would want to live like that the majoirty of their life. She isn't the same person they knew and loved and I just think it would be better for her to go in peace. If my 15 year old sister would have survived her car crash, I know she would end up like that and everyone in my family would have agreed to have her plug pulled because my sister would have never wanted to live like that. I don't see why people keep loved ones in vegetative states after a horrible accident. To me, it would tear me apart seeing them like that.

It'll be any time now. It's funny you know: It comes down to the insertion of the word *may* instead of *shall* in the congressional bill. If these were her wishes, I certainly can respect that. What I tend to wonder is if I am not watching a man who is getting away with a 15 year old murder. He never stated her "wish" until 7 years after the fact. He waited until after winning a malpractice suit. All the money from said malpractice suit went towards legal representation to insure she would have the tube removed. Reread my post. I said he may be getting away with a 15 year old murder. The cause of her collapse has never been definitively shown. It is consistent with asphyxiation. Schiavo is the only one who knows what really happened that night.

not being able to walk and not being able to do anything at all aren't the same thing. I just think it's stupid to keep someone "alive" and I use the term loosely since without higher brain functions or any thought process there's little difference between a person and a cactus... other than the fact that a cactus doesn't need a feeding tube because it can make it's own food and sustain itself... just because the bible says so.
