Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
Aestheticly speaking, which would be your preferance....switchblade, straight razor, or stilleto? What do you think it says about your personality, if anything?
Do you have one, and what is your favorite use for it...bloodplay, prop, masturbation with the hilt, just for looks...?
Obviously you prirates prefer your cutlass, and the ninjas your swords.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
I like this question. I have a switchblade in front of me right now. I always carry it around for protection/toy and it comes in handy when my nails get dirty. The sound is nice too.
I've always wanted a straight razor, but can't find one for a good price. I think they look menacing (texas chainsaw). Coooooool.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
nice...hope the balance is good.
what about the smaller sharp things....which of 'em do you like the most?
please note that belaying pins are not sharp... :D

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
the "newer" straight razors with removable blades lack character...the older style are nice...

Out of those 3 choices, I've always favored switchblades. I got the name "Inox" from the blade of a little Italian switchblade I used to carry when I was ~14.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
straight razor

i got a few for like 2.99 a piece,i almost never use them, becuse they can really fuke your shit up,but i also almost never shave my face.....

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
:eeek: I drink far too much coffee to ever attempt shaving myself with a straight razor.....

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
I like the feel of front opening switchblades, but they don't tend to be strong. I like to play with butterfly knives, but it's more of a flashy play toy. For a real knife, I'd have to say I'd most likely choose a Tanto, but punch daggers are good for walking around.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
hey Inox....used to carry? When did you stop carrying it around....did ya find something better?
-
Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
okay, lets add some to the mix. Sword canes or kris knives?

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
Tanato's are good....have to love a knife that will punch through a car door without fucking up the point and still hold an edge

That would be the objective. To me, it's all about how effective it is. It's a tool to do a job and that job shouldn't be just looking cool unless it's in the movies or something.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
but it is nice when they can be both...

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
it's all about the switchblade comb baby.

seriously though, this has always been my favorite 'play' knife...it was a limited edition release from the cheesy Stallone movie Cobra. You can still get some cheapo remakes of it. It's certainly not something i carry but it makes an interesting wound pattern. lol.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
Nothing and I mean nothing, beats Cold Steel's Recon Tanto for overall scaryness. But for a pocket piece, I carry a Balisong Butterfly. The visual of it scares the hell out of most people, and makes that cool metalic sound. I do have a small collection of Katana's but they are mostly for decoration (not that I wouldn't lop someones head off with one).

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
definately either a switchblade(which are illegal in my state) or a stilleto for me. i prefer the thin, sharp blades. my favourite is an old stylet that i got at an antique store. it was designed for use in transfrontal lobotemies!

I like the shape of the Ka-bar 1245 Black Tanto, speaking of ninja looking knives. :thumb:

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
Depends on situation. For each of those, I know a bunch of books where they were used with terribly cool results.
For overall flavor, a stiletto. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, or don't want to have to unpack a weapon before I introduce it to someone's spine.
Still, I take what I get.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
VERY nice......a little design etching onto the blade and :ybounce:

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
I have always been a big fan of the Benchmade Stryker, nice heavy blade, and a tanto style tip. Very fast on the out, saddly I couldn't keep mine when I got out of the Army.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?

Actually, I have a Husky brand purple alloy pocket knife that has a box cutter blade attachment instead of a regular blade. It even has the little thumb bar on the side for quick openning. It's super sharp, very slim and compact, fairly light. I use it a bunch for set building and breaking down, so I cut a lot of tape and stuff. Being able to replace the blades makes things much easier than cleaning gunk off a good blade.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
I have a very bad knife fetish...so I collect alot of cutlery. My favorite right now is a muslim blade, a crescent shaped blade that was used to often behead victims with...makes good for slitting a throat all the way across due to its shape too.
I also love kris blades..the wavyness of the blade offers serious internal damage to the victim when used correctly...which is the point of the kris blade.
I also have 3 african spears that were used in the brittish zulu war with blood still on them (serious collectors item), an original mali ritual knife...blah blah blah...
I like weapons for their usage, not for prop value. I like the history behind them and what they are used for. Granted, I will never, ever USE one of my beloved little pretties on anyone, but I love them.
I wonder if anyone else has this wierd fetish like me? Sometimes just seeing a beautiful blade...man...I could orgasm.

Re: Switchblade, Stilleto, or Straigh Razor?
i used to carry a flip knife - quick release, but not a switchblade. then i started working in a federal building and got out of the habit of carrying it, even once the job ended.
