thanks alot killerkat m8y, if i need help ill sound the siren again :)
one more thing, they say the wax is needed so the dreads form properly, if thats the case what did you use instead?
you don't need the wax....at all!....AT ALLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!
there lying to get you to buy their product...wax is bullshit...
ever seen a Shamans dreads,or a tribesman, perfectly round and shaped...no wax ,no nothing....
best advice ever: just leave your hair alone"...it will do it's thing...dreads are 98% patience...
lol, i got the no wax bit, was just checking to see if you did use something, like i said (or maybe didnt), i want them all natural.
im going to consider you my personal fout of knowlege btw :)
:D
i've recently had to stop pulling my hair up,with those small things...
i've had like 4 get sucked in....i had to eventally just cut them(the ties) off then over another 20 or so mins. pull them out,haha...
... am i missing something ??? :P
no.....that just reminded me of that .....
you probally shouldn't have that problem, unless your hair is really long, and really, really, really uhhhh....well like mine,haha....
no dread wax?!!! but what about the knottyboy products? those kick fucking ass... not gooey or waxy really, just nice... www.knottyboy.com thats where i wanted to get my dread kit... that site convinced me to get dreads... plus most of the money they make from their products goes to charities and stuff, i think they make just enough profit to keep making their shit :D
i know a girl that works for KB...
they are great people, but the wax sucks, there other products are pretty good, but the was is shit,no matter who makes it....
see, who do i believe???? arghlemerga!
well,do you want dreads with character, that are clean...smooth soft...
or do you wnt dreads with no character, with shit stuck in them like glue...smell like shit...and easily catch some mold...(this is only a bit of what wax can do).....
let me see if i can find the wax picture for you, hold your stomacks..
hah well i dont actually have dreads yet... so keep talking to him hehee...
i was gonna go with the wax from knotty boy... it smells real good... hehe... yum. but now i just dont know :S
option number 1 john, just so many people rave bout wax, but a friend of mine waxes and, lets just say, hes got the nickname "shitlocks"
thats not cool :S
the wax only smeels good for about a week, than it will make you want to puke everytime one gets around your face...
and they can make your face break out,if your locks are on your face alot(lesser known, but it does happen)...
still looking for that picture...
ewww... what about that dread shampoo they sell, does that get all the wax and shit out?
it won't get the wax out...but it is quality stuff....
to be honest thought,i just use Dr.Bonners, when i SO wash them....
to be real honest i can't even remember the last time i washed mine...BUT that's just me,haha..
*shrugs*, i only plan to use dread shampoos and rubber bands :D
but i know little bout dreads, therefore making sure i get things right... im hoping to get the dreads started friday or next week.
will post pic of result when i get it aswell :D
shit, bud, you don't even have to use thos bands either...
they will get sucked into the roots if you leave htem in too long....
if your gonna use them, don't go much more than a few weeks(like 3/maybe 4)...
really, can't stress it enough,,it's ALL about time...."insta-locks" will not treat you very well....
i assume your back-combing?
make me jealous heh...
i want dreads too... im gonna invent a dread wax that doesnt make nicknames like "shitlocks"
yups, using the bands only to help the dread form, wasnt leaving them at the roots for more than a month tops. maybe keep at tips to tidy the ends.
sorry,there won't be any....
all the wax does is make teh fuzzy hair stick to the rest of the locks....that's it's only funtion....it makes it LOOK like you have locks...and there inlies the sales pitch....
wax has NO barring on how the dread forms or the shape of it..
