In terms of money and/or time...
I've spent about 6 hours in the chair and maybe 700 bucks altogether. I'm just curious on what some of the rest of you have sacrificed for your art.
I'm most interested in Jax's response because her tat's are so widespread and intricate but I also want to know about everyone else.
so far i've spent about 400 bucks and have about 4 and a half hours' worth of work. i've got plans for more, like gettin ones i have colored in, but that requires money, which is kinda hard to come by when you're tryin to pay for school too. meh, oh, well.
ive spent close to 2,000.00 on peircings over time and a few hours on a tattoo and a couple hundred bucks
well over $3,000.00 my legs alone, cost me $2,000.00
i have no idea,and i really don't even wan't to know how much....
there's at least three zero's i know that much :( ...
but love it :D ....
4-5 hours tattoos £85 (soon will be much much higher :()
and combined about an hour in piercings £35
i can only imagine it costs a shit load or you all have huge pieces, i have tats on either arm about 5in high and 4 in wide, tat on base of foot, which took ages coz it tickled like hell, and one on my ass that didnt take long, was just a laff to get :P
300 or so dollars, cut away the zeroes and that's the hours.
I'm not anywhere near as tattooed as I want to be.

ummm.... about 7 hrs and $700 this summer... custom tribal and cover-up work...
I'm guessing around ten hours chair time, and the cost was, well...nearly free.

You have to bleach it out to blonde before you add color.
I found that Punky Color tends to stay the longest...

Also, if you do not like to maintain it all the time, just do the tips,
or some streaks, so it is easy to re-color when it starts to fade...
That way, you can keep your roots their natural color, and you
don't have to keep re-bleaching your roots all the time....
With the exception of around $50 bucks I paid for a Saxon tattoo when I was drunk and fourteen and drunk at a party, I don't think I've paid for any of my ink. The really awful Saxon tattoo is covered up now so I haven't paid money for any ink you can see.
I think Ive spent a total of $200 on ink... partially because I do tattoo's myself. So, I paid for 4 of mine and spent no more than a few hundred bucks. And Im about to get a half sleeve done at little to no cost.. ^.^
