What are your favorite vegetables?
I know no one is supposed to like brussel sprouts, but my brother and I both love them. Maybe my mom just made them special. I don't eat veggies as much as I should because they are sometimes a chore to store and to prepare, but I actually like a lot of them.
What are your favorite vegetables?

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
Brussels sprouts rock. I'll grant you that. They're my fave... after bourbon carrots. And, let's add some more veg to the mix. Vodka is made of potatoes after all ;)

Which ones are the bourbon carrots? What do you call the carrots that are kind of pale and yellow and less sugary but still carrots?

No, those would be carrots cooked in butter with a hint of brown sugar and bourbon.

For some reason, the last three or so posts in this thread remind me of a joke or two I heard about the late Karen Ann Quinlan long, long ago.
For those of you out there who've no idea who she was, she was famous for being the centre of a legal case over the right to die back in the mid- and late '70's, as she'd been in a long-term coma after an accident, and it was her family, I believe, who wanted to take her off of her life-support machines.
Can't remember the joke, but, if you want any more info, just Google or other search engine her name, and am sure there's at least something out there about her and her case.
This, however, just goes to show that there is indeed more than one definition of the word "vegetable" out there:wink2: :evil_lol:

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
I love brussel sprouts, ..in fact I like pretty much any veggie...the only one I really don't like is celery..but even it has it's moments
i think my favorite are snap peas
btw my 3 year olds favorite food is broccoli lol he runs through the grocery store screaming BROCI BROCI..how messed up is that

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
I prefer my meat products but do like the occasional vegetable. I like Carrots (cooked) Peas (Garden, not processed) Sprouts are ok, as long as they are smothered in butter.
Can't think of any other vegetables that I really like. (I'm waiting for someone to say Tomatoes) :D

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
I love lettuce, corn, carrots, peas, tomatos, broccoli, cabbage, thats all I can think of right now. I HATE canned veggies though, its all gross.

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
anything properly cooked and cooked seperatly with any celery (i detest that vile plant and it contaminates anything its cooked with).
but todays sunday lunch...
was a close call between the roast carrots and roast parsnip.
and theres nothing wrong with sprouts as long as thier cooked properly

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
I actually love brussel sprouts..i remember when I was in 2nd grade and had to "grow" them for a science project..then eat them and I was surprised that at that age I wanted more.
I also love broccoli, green beans, peas, snow peas but my favorite would probably have to be baby corn when me and the wife make Stir Fry with Kobe Beef.. I love Whole Foods Market 8^)

They are a little starchy for the direction I generally try to steer my diet, but I looooooooooove parsnips. I used to get them in various root vegetable dishes at restaurants and never know what they were, but eventully I found out that the most delicious one was the yummy parsnip.
I like raw celery, but cooked celery is deranged.

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
I've NEVER had or tasted brussel sprouts. Though I always remember them from the movies when I was a kid that "ewwww brussel sprouts" or whatever..i don't even really know what they look like, if I remember correctly passing by the frozen isle they look like tiny cabagges? anyways, just recently I discovered my love of steamed green beans!!! and I like green broccoli too!

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
I like Lotus Roots, never had them till I came to Japan, I had to look up the English name since I only know them as renkon. Cooked in butter they are great. Cabbage is another favorite, I throw that in all the soups we make.

mmmmm veggies - raw, green and crunchy - TOMATO (but it's technically a fruit) - just wish I had a house boy to fix veggies for me every day cause it does tend to be a lot of work and I can't eat them fast enough before they rot and that pisses me off :)
-

They grow them in forms. Easier to pack and stuff... But they cost more than regular ones :/

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
Yeah, I see them at the department stores, I've seen them for about $100-150. $100 cantaloupes also but those are round, haven't seen a square melon yet.

Re: What are your favorite vegetables?
I'm quite a fan of my mom's brussel sprouts too, actually. Peas, corn, carrots, taters are all quite yummy to me as well.
