#1. Debbie Gibson: went with a friend that loved her. (kept getting asked if I was selling drugs)
#2. New Kids on the Block: They opened for The Bangles (Great America) so really doesn't count.
#3 Rick Springfield: actually a decent show.

I used to be a late night metal DJ in Connecticut, so apparently I do not really feel any shame for this, but going on the basis of what other folks might feel shame for (or at least what my dickhead punk rock housemates have complained about but often accepted +1's for):
Dokken
Skid Row
Scorpions
Aerosmith..................after they sobered up
Beats International.(The group Norman Cook formed before becoming Fat Boy Slim)
haha that one was mine tooQuote:

Can't say I am ashamed of any. I do get ribbed for going to what were local bands that signed or got distro. Personally, the only thing that annoys me is that they don't get a bigger cut. Will I pay ___ for NOFX? Shit yeah. I went for free last time but still ... I'd rather they get the cash. I feel the game is still rigged in an insiduous way. Yeah, I'm an idealist I s'pose. I just don't bother pretending to accrue cool points by biting my nose to spite my face.

One house I lived in: Noone would do the dishes. I would blast every "corporate album" I had and do em. Things improved after that :1orglaugh :thumb:Quote:

I am not ashamed of seeing any concert at all. If I've gone to see it, there was a valid reason.
I thought, even though NKOTB is NOT my kinda music, that they were excellent showmen and the concert, for what it was, was entertaining.
Anyone who thinks less of me as a person for enjoying something outside my normal sphere of experience is a scenester asshole and any kind of narrowminded person bores the shit outta me.
Concerts just bore me. I can't dance and I can't fall into trance on most of the concerts.
My work is done :)

I will say that I've been in a Slayer pit that had more respect and etiquette than simply viewing a Velvet Revolver show: not only was there this huge fight on the lawn in which several police officers tried to break up some drunk, coked-up losers, but I was so harassed by one guy my friend almost had to call security. All in all, there were alot of assholes there that almost ruined my night, but at least I got a sweet AlC shirt out of it.
^ that sucks Ace, at least you did get an Alice in Chains shirt.

I think its kewl that you live in an area where things of the entertainment nature can be partaken of.Quote:

Not so much for the musical acts, cause I saw some great performances.... but being immersed in such a greedy, hostile, aggressive environment for so long made you feel kinda shameful and gross.
Skid Row post Seb Bach was pretty horrible too.
My parents dragged me to a gospel singing when I was 14. I remember I was bored to tears thru out the preformance of the opening groups (I actually snuck into the bathroom to sneak a Marlboro light)... the main group didnt go on because a tornado hit the building we were in. It was made like an old dance hall, where the ceiling drops to meet the bleachers. This horrible storm hit, and ...

(Looking at it, to the right side), while me, my brother and my sister were looking out the little window, a tornado ripped off the right side of the building which we were looking at... and for SOME SUPERNATURAL reason, we didnt get sucked out with that portion of the roof.
The roof was deposited on the car next to ours. We had insulation all over our vehicle, but it was otherwise untouched.
There were boards flying around the room, and ppl were pushing everyone over to get to safety, the thought in my head at that moment was... seriously, what happened to brotherly love?!!!!
There was only a foot between the roof and the top bleacher.

Ohh, I've heard the Farmers Market have a good selection of orchids.....
Thats my weakness....
Orchids are Oh, so sexual
i once got tricked into going to a christian rock concert... one of the performances was an ex-australian idol contestant god-bothering beat-boxer, there were three different comedians and only one of them made me laugh... ONCE, and there were a lot of people crowded into a small space making it almost impossible to escape.
worst night of my life :(
I bet...... and if you read the post above, it fits SOMEHOW you.
<3
Neal Diamond at Chastain Amphitheatre... I want to be nice, to my older brother and just I hate that type of country....
Ugh...Janet Jackson. My mother pretty much made me go cuz her friends daughter wanted to go and had no one to go with.
Bah...I'm over it now, have seen tons of amazing bands since then!
I have also seen a local band that were supporting better bands. They have been known as Athamay, Torture Tek and Greenhaus (I think) but they keep changing their name (probably to protect them from the angry mobs) They really aren't all that good, even the bassist admits it. We were asked not to heckle them as the female singer had threatened scream down the mike if she was heckled.
One lad was so loud in his heckling that you could hear him over the music!
Cher and Cyndi Lauper. My first mainstream concert lol : shakes head :
Girls just wanna have fun.
I love Ms Lauper... she's still timeless in my book... with true colors... and something else that escapes my mind at the moment.
I had to see MxPx like ten times because for about three years in a row it seemed like they were opening for every single band I wanted to see. Christian pop-punk made my ears want to jump the hell off my head and run away.
That ode to gusset typing, "She-bop"?Quote:

I kinda liked them when I first heard them. But the more I listened and started catching all the god-stuff I started to get annoyed. And then when I had to sit through them like 4 times a month I started to tire of them hard.Quote:
