I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
So I ended up at this shoot that was all serious and mainstream. There was like 3 hair people and 2 make-up people and a wardrobe stylist and his assistant and their entourage and 3 male models and 4 female's including me. So needless to say I felt a bit out of my element! I was the only weirdo there and I got more than one strange look when I walked in the door. I had spoken to the hairstylist previously, and he had told me he would be using fake hair so I could just come with my mohawk as is (it was crimped and dirty). This only furthered how opposite my appearance was to the primped models who were already in hair and make-up.
Anyhow, when I went to get dressed the wardrobe guy handed me a pair of pants that were about as wide as one of my thighs. I have never been self conscious of my body, but at the moment when I explained to him that the pants wouldn't fit me, the look he gave me made me feel about 600 lbs. Next he handed me an equally small pair which I tried on to humor him, since he was in disbelief that I couldn't fit them. They pulled up to mid- thigh. Yeah. "Ooooooooh" he said. "They don't fit??" (insert here: small flamboyant man looking me up and down...)
So fiiiiiinally I was handed a THIRD pair, which he disgustedly said "these one's should fit". I sucked my stomach in as much as I possibly could and was rewarded with the zipper barely pulling shut.
My embarrassment was furthered when the diamond rings he had didn't fit either. Then I didn't have earring holes and he wanted to put earrings on me.
The experience was all together entertaining but nothing I hope to repeat :-)

Don't blame you, Scar, for not wanting to repeat the experience.
As for the wardrobe stylist, well, some people's children are too condescending for words, I think, and he seems to be one of them.
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
sounds like someone needed to get bitchsmacked to me,kiddo. just remember some are intended for being in front of the camrea while the rest are intended to be the photographer's lapdogs...a.k.a:warddrobe. why you doin mainstream shit anyway?youre a rockstar.
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
hahaha my lover man was shooting it :-) Plus I got to be the Devil in the shoot, which was themed '7 Deadly Sins'
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
It should be mandatory not to bathe for at least a week before seeing a Wardrobe Stylist. This would cause an attitude adjustment very quickly.

Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
just use the pulp fiction mr wolf quote
i'm here to help if my help is not appreciated, good luck gentlemen
they want you so let them know that they are not doing you a favor
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
just remember Scar that the mainstream fashion world (and much of the arts too i'm afraid) is run by petty nasty gay men, who hate women, and want them to all look like little boys.
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
so that explains the no boobs on most fashion models...
yeah... that little man sounds horrid. ew.
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
well why the hell are you wearing pants in a shoot for!?
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
"What not to wear" anything those two stylists have on.. My God have you seen that show? Those two have no right to mock another persons wardrobe.
Most other stylists don't know much more.
You're hot they're not very bright and think they are. Does that help?

Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
*hugs* baby i feel for you.
I showed up to a playboy shoot early in my career but for some reason the stylest there thought that there were two sizes for ppl 00 or 14. size four did not exist for him. Luckily i had MY bag with me so I could dress myself, which this queen thought was amazing. Stylists piss me off, period. Worse than Keyboard Samurai.
We love you Scar, and so does some guy who made a youtube slide show of your pics...

Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
heh...just tell him you get more cock than he does, that'll piss him off sure. :1orglaugh
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
*huge hugs*
Can I hit him ... no really. One of the things I like about this site is that it shows larger girls but you aren't even in that category. Honestly too any smaller and you wouldn't be half as sexy! You are perfect the way you are! We have seen photographic evidence of this!
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
hah keiko... what is a keyboard samurai??
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
Woman being dressed by gay men to look pretty for straight men.
Does not make sense to me either.
Re: I was insulted by a wardrobe stylist.
I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all really respect you scar!
I had a run in with a "wardrobe specialist" just like that once when I did opera (The Arts are a bottomless hole for abhorrent people chock full of their own importance)
Unfortunately I was young and stupid (about 14 years old) and took his attitude seriously, he decided to dress me as a boy because "it was a role that would suit my look" (because I turned up in slouchy jeans to the fitting) he gave me pants that were like 3 sizes too big and a shirt that smelt like a sweat sock. @#$%$#@!
I got him back though ;) the next performance I got one of the lead roles (A female lead role) and got the pleasure of being fitted for a rather fetching corseted dress that was ten-fold feminine.
Needless to say I sympathise, and agree with buster friendly... nasty women and really bitter gay guys haunt artistic industries, even though as Velvet- tongue says " does not make sense to me either "
