This question is for the women here. If you were in a high security situation, would you be able to go to the bathroom and change a tampon and come back in only 8 minutes -- if you had to be escorted out of the room you were in, get your purse out of a locked locker, get a key for the bathroom, return the key, return your purse to the locked locker, and then go through biometric scanning verification and present your ID before being escorted back in? Hypothetically?

Was the bathroom far away from where you were? Was there lots of walking involved? Was the place packed?
If you answered yes to any of those questions then no, 8 minutes is not enough time. :D
They should have given you 15 minutes. I mean, it doesn't really take that long to pee/change a tampon/wash hands, etc. But if they are making you grab a key like it was a gas station, and then re-enter through security, that can be a longer process.
Besides, it's never a good idea to rush a girl in a situation like that. I've been rushed before and dropped my only tampon (after I un-wrapped it) on the floor, resorting to toilet paper till I got home, which thankfully wasn't long.
That's kind of pushing it. Especially considering you had to go through security again. And Synth is right, a woman on the rag shouldn't be rushed. It tends to make us cranky.

When there are so many elements out of your control I'm going to say that NO... No way is 8 minutes enough time. Whoever invented that rule doesn't have a vagina or know how they work.
