favorite vampire movie....movies?
what are your favorite vampire movies?
I have never been a fan of the hopeless romantic being hunted down for being nocturnal and weak kinda vamp flicks...sure I love a little romance every once in a while but for goll's sake! dracula had a frickin harem for crying out loud! lol
my favorites are"
the lost boys,
fright night
the blade trilogy,
vampire hunter d
vampire hunter d bloodlust
not a long list im sure but they get me more than other ones because they show a few things about vampires I like:
1.not all vampires are well bred, well mannered things.
2.they show the freocity of the vampire being as they are stronger and faster than humans.
3.they show the sexual deviant side of the vampire as well rather than the hopeless romantic.

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?
John Carpenter's Vampires!

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?
I'm not a big vampire fan in general, but as for a fav movie, it would have to be "Near Dark". That one in perticular had a good perspective on "a day in the life" of a vampire. It was much more humanistic than romantic.

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?
yeh. im not either bink. more a living dead person myself. hence why my list is so small

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?
Well, I love Dusk Till Dawn (Salma :rryumy: ), but I don't think that's the sort of vampire movie you're talking about.
Most of Jean Rollin's stuff is pretty good, as is Bram Stoker's Dracula.
I thought Blade:Trinity was awful...Parker Posey was the only good thing in it.
At the end of the day, Hammer horror is where it's at for vampires, my friend :thumb: !

Scoff if you will, but a huge appeal for me of any vampire flick is the vampiresses: the Brides made Van Helsing bearable.
But what really gets me going is when we see the transformation, the corruption of the vampiresses on-screen. The end of Fright Night, at least until the makeup artist was loosed to craft his facial vagina dentata, was cool.
Top o' the pops, though, is Dracula 2000: Jeri Ryan, Jennifer Esposito, and Vitamin C getting recruited into the legions of the Sexy Undead? Yum! :thumb:

You have GOT to be kidding. I LOVE Parker Posey, and I thought she was AWFUL in that film. I think Triple-H outacted her.

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?
Most vampire movies I'm more interested in the writers take on vampire mythology. I loved The Hunger and most of the Blade Trilogy although the third one was more eye candy to me. Except I really liked the thing about Dracula. I thought that was really interesting.
But the absolute best was the vampire pomeranian. Coolest thing ever.

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?
Nudemuse got me on that one for sure... The Hunger was an incredible movie beginning to end. Didn't think of it at the time..too busy thinking of those cape, wearing pasty faced Christopher Lee vamps.

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?
No nods to Shadow of the Vampire? It may have lacked much for action, but Defoe made vampires scary again, or at least really creepy. And Malcovitch did the same thing for directors.

Re: favorite vampire movie....movies?
Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter
Quote:
The Power of Christ Impales You.
The first testament says "an eye for an eye." The second testament says "love thy neighbour." The third testament KICKS ASS! The filmmaking team that brought you Harry Knuckles and won the "Spirit of Slamdance" prize with Harry Knuckles and the Treasure of the Aztec Mummy ups the ante with this tale of the ultimate action hero: Jesus Christ. The second coming is upon us, and Jesus has returned to earth. But before he can get down to the serious business of judging the living and the dead, he has to contend with an army of vampires that can walk in the daylight. Combining kung-fu action with biblical prophecy and a liberal dose of humour, the film teams the Savior with Mexican wrestling hero El Santos against mythological horrors and science gone mad, and also manages to address contemporary sexual politics. And did we mention that it's a musical? This sure ain't Sunday School.
