This sucks
Hey everyone, I'm going to be gone for awhile. I'm being shipped to another post, but I have to go to a different one first for bullshit training. I don't know how long I'll be there, but I won't have much (if any) internet access and it'll be at least 5 weeks. So, I might manage to get on a couple times, but otherwise I'll catch you all later when I make it to Fort Lewis, Washington.

Re: This sucks
Yeah, but the army wants to waste money sending me through all this bullshit training just so I can turn around and get out. I've still got a year left. But, on the plus side, I'm about to bank some serious mulah on travel pay. $109 each day that I don't have to show receipts for or pay back, plus 24 cents for each mile. I have 10 travel days and a lot of miles to go. Plus, I get payed for having to rent a Uhaul in order to get both my car and truck to Washington.

perhaps what they are really training you for is needed to return you to a normal, civilian life?

Re: This sucks
So my streak of bad luck continues. I went to Austin for Halloween to party with my friends and my car was stolen. I even personally went to every impound lot within 30 miles of the downtown area and it wasn't in any of them, which I figured since he police had no record of it being towed. (In Texas any time a vehicle is impounded, even if it wasn't contracted by the law, they have to report it to the police). So, now my Lexus is gone. To further the crappiness, my drivers license was in the car, all of my military paperwork (including a copy of my birth certificate and social security card), a couple pieces of army gear, my leather jacket, my medications from my corrective eye surgery, and 2 Ipods.
Anyway, I managed to put a fraud alert into the big 3 credit report companies, get a new license, and recover some paperwork. On the bright side, I'm not assigned to anyone in the army at the moment, and I've talked to enough people (most of whom essentially told me to fuck off and they wouldn't/could'nt help me) to keep myself out of trouble and be able to stick around the area since the next class date for my training isn't until January. So, now I'm going to sit on my ass and get payed! I always wondered what this would be like...
